"PITA POCKET PIZZA" ( P P P )...........
Took a whole wheat pita pocket, and split it into two halves../ tomatoes chopped cheese and spices/with a little oil. on an oiled pan, and baked in the toaster oven till the cheese melts and bubbles.
They were good, and we are not bloated from eating too much dough.

Salmon and pizza both look good.
Cassie made dinner tonight. There were scallops, poblanos. bacon & cheese dates and pears with walnuts and cheese on french bread

Bacon and cheese dates??..... I love cheese dates and bacon, alone, but together, they sound great! What kind of cheese Norm? If you know.

It's so rewarding when the kids cook for the dads. And the moms too, but it is such a great feeling. IMO
Like Maria, making me chocolate chip cookies, and hand placing 4 and no more chocolate chips in each cookie. I do not like a lot of chocolate chips in my cookies.
It's so cute when she says,"these are DAD cookies!"...

Oh yum lookin good around here.
Just got up and have not had my coffee yet, Can't see good lol cleaned my eyes.. Dog and cat out. Maggie will not go out in the morning she does not like to get her feet wet hahahah

Thanks everyone. It looked pretty and tasted good too. I don't know anything about any of her recipes.

I couldn't decide on a protein for tonight so I just went vegetarian....well, except for the chicken stock. I pulled whatever looked like it might be good in a stir fry and put it over my leftover rice.

OK .... so very close to vegetarian ... Looks great too!
I had three measly fillet steaks from that Omaha Beef frozen stuff we got as a gift!LOL.... they were great. The mouth and teeth said,"It's about time you let me chew a steak so good!"

I had meatballs and spaghetti. The meatballs were store bought and just heated in the oven.

I didn't want to uncover the grill and mess around outside for one baby burger so I griddled it on the stovetop. A quick spritz of Formula 409 seemed easier than the whole uncover, scrape, heat, cook, cool & recover with the grill.
For some reason I was hungry for a burger....wonder where THAT idea came from. Instead of adding bacon to my burger, I added the bacon to my green beans.

My mother used to talk about fried pies that she ate while growing up in Texas. I have never had one. The closest thing I have eaten is one of those Hostess fruit pies that are mostly crust, those things that cost around a dollar. One of these days I am going to have to try my hand at one.

Leftover pasta salad and grilled chicken breasts tonight. I didn't feel like cooking. Camp Pendleton (50 miles away) has been shooting off their big canons and guns and the booms are setting my teeth on edge and my nerves are frayed. I can't believe we can hear them so far away. I guess I should be grateful it isn't the Marine fighter jets. When those would fly by the whole house would shake and rattle and I would run out the nearest door. If you have ever been to the drag races and heard those Top Fuel dragsters, it is similar to that. They set off every car alarm in the area.

I went through that when we lived next to the air force base in Puerto Rico. Those monster B-52 bombers would take off, and the house would shake. No worry about car alarms going off. There were none back then, or very few anyway.

Then...some pork steaks braised with onions and potatoes.
Ooops!.... forgot to mention, Tina is baking a banana cake with walnuts.
She is gonna try baking it in the new big toaster oven.
We just love that toaster oven.

I just got back from a late lunch....no supper planned for tonight! I had a steak & egg salad and it was excellent. It was a small (but sufficient sized) medium rare hanger steak with an 'over-easy' egg on top and a nicely dressed salad along side.
We went to see the movie with Meryl Streep and Rick Springfield, "Ricki & the Flash". Good movie. No violence, no killing....just an excellent story.
