bethk wrote:My friend, Barb, and I went to the beach today. She's been saying she wanted to go on a day trip so today was the day to drive to the ocean. We had wonderful fried shrimp for lunch and then to the ocean to sit in chairs and let the water roll over our feet. It was just so nice and peaceful....kids in that area must be back in school for the new year (YEA!!!).
So, no cooking for me today.

Then this mom and pop team arrive with two kids and set up shop about 2 feet away and in front of us. There was all the room in the world on the beach and they chose to sit in our laps. A little while later a whole group of their friends arrived with bags of the smelliest chicken. They blocked our entire view and the smell was like dirty chickens. We had to get up and move it was so bad. A little while later we noticed that a couple that were sitting near us also had moved. There are some types of people that just don't have any sense of personal space. It could have been worse. One time we had a family set up next to us that brought a live chicken. They killed it, plucked it, cleaned and cooked it right there. My DH and I were off chicken for 6 months.
Tonight was carne asada tacos with guac, pico de gallo, chipotle salsa. Then we watched the quirkiest movie: "The Family" with Robert Di Nero, Michelle Pfeiffer, Tommy Lee Jones. It was about a mob family in the witness protection program. It was amusing.

Why don't you fry up some meatballs?
Then you'd both be happy.
