Sounds like a kind of haluski to me, Jimmy.  Like when I do my egg noodles, onion, cabbage & smoked sausage.  Poor Tina, had to cook for the kids when she knew she wasn't going to be able to eat.  I hate when that happens.

Yep! .... just like the same haluski you make. Sort of, but no sausage. The difference is the Whole grain elbows.

Tina made the sauce the other day, so she just cooked the spaghetti, and warmed the sauce and meatballs. She looked like a ghost just smelling the food.

Yes.. I dry them real good. Then sear in hot CI.Then lemon/butter.

We're having a pot luck dinner in my condo building tomorrow night, about 130 units. There will be lots of food. I have made a coleslaw and a whole bunch of devilled eggs................... so I've been sampling for a while.

Had to make the food today because I am out of town during the day tomorrow.

Another couple of hours, and I will be King for a Day! ... 71 years old.  We will celebrate on Sunday together with son Jimmy's MIL's birthday.

Tomorrow though, I want Beth Burgers for supper. A nice slice of onion on top with a little ketchup. Naturally with sweet hot pickles and peppers.

I'm just back from our condo building's pot luck supper. Well, I had some mac and cheese, scalloped potatoes, roast pork and rice, three different kinds of meatballs, one small slice of another roast pork, a devilled egg, some coleslaw, a salad of various coloured peppers and mango, a mystery casserole with lots of veggies with maybe some chicken in it (not sure, don't care, it was delish!)

I didn't want any dessert, but someone brought a huge cake, only about a quarter was eaten, so I volunteered to take it to my condo, put it in a couple of Tupperware containers and then freeze to keep it for the next party her in the building. So, of course while cutting it up I had to lick some of it, you know, the part that was left on the big platter, right???

The food was fabulous, I think everyone here has had a lot of experience in cooking!

I enjoy seeing the variety at a community potluck. Some people go all out and make 'their best' and others stop at the nearest grocery and pick up a dessert. But it's all in good will and is a great way to know your community.

sick.. new meds are kicking my butt.Upset tummy.Heartburn.poops.so tired I can hardly put one foot in front of the other.Sleepy..Headache..Back is so bad ,I can hardly stand up..I got a new med for my back,however the side effects ar e really bad and it is a narcotic.. I am not ready to take it..

Oh, dear....how awful that the med they want you to take makes you worse instead of better.

I had to get cat litter today and could hardly    carry it in.20lbs..I dropped it  by the door and there it will stay...Well till I can carry it to the bathroom litter box..

Are these pain meds that are making you sick? Could you cut them in half and slowly get your body and stomach used to them?

Chicken burrito.Maybe I should have given it more thought...

but you-know-who doesn't like them. It's an awful lot of work to do for just one. And if I make them I will over eat and stuff myself. Better to wait until I can convince the neighborhood to have an 'ethnic pot luck'. Started talking to the Norwegian neighbor. She's going to bring her special griddle back with her after a trip home in November so we can learn to make lefse, the potato burrito shell.....I don't know how else to describe it. But anyway, we're talking about having a dinner to showcase foods from 'home' ~ that special holiday fare your family celebration wouldn't be complete without.

Yeah, I know.....that's why I'm not going to indulge in the pierogis.

But I do want to watch my neighbor make the lefse. It's just another cultural food that really intrigues me. I don't know that they even sound tasty to me....potato tortilla fresh off the griddle, slathered in butter and sprinkled with sugar & cinnamon.....

But I'd rather learn about how to make the lefse than the salted fish.
