Pour the tomatoes over the pot and add in the white wine and fresh herbs and bay leaves.

Let the pot come to a boil, then put lid on and transfer to a preheated 325F oven.

Cook 3 hours without peaking

Having fried shrimp and cauliflower tonight. Had a few chocolate covered raisins for dessert. My bg was 117 after breakfast and lunch meals. I would call that pretty much under control.

This morning I made my DH a huge breakfast burrito. It was full of eggs, potatoes O'Brien, sausage, bacon , cheese and Tommy's chili paste. I wasn't sure he would want dinner but he did so we had tuna melts. In between breakfast and dinner we went to see Dracula with Bela Lugosi on the big screen. There were only four people in the theater. One was a crazy who would laugh at the wrong time. The crowning touch was that he let this long, rasping fart. I couldn't believe it.
I then got an email from Bon Appetit magazine for a recipe for a drink inspired by Donald Trump. It is called the comb-over. Here is the link. Too funny.

Sour dough starter had been asleep in the refrigerator since last May, so I figured it was time to wake it up and start using it again. It was still slow after a few days of feeding it, so I gave it a little boost with instant yeast, otherwise I'd be waiting until tomorrow for the sponge to bubble enough. I had some store bought deli fried chicken, potato salad and baked beans with it.

Hot Dogs broiled today. Son Jim was over after work cutting up logs for his fireplace.
He had hot dogs too. Tina is in PA shopping......so all was a great day, and we ate on newspaper place mats, and Tina mommy wasn't here to holler at us.

Those baguettes inspire me. I made some breadsticks a couple of weeks ago. I need more practice with them.

Aw, man, I want pot roast.....heck, I'll settle for any 'real' beef. And there YOU go with leftovers that look way better than any meal I've had lately.

OK, that does it! A marinated London Broil (the only beef I've got) gets thawed out tomorrow.
