The cakes come in a box and are individually wrapped in cellophane!

Niagara Visitor wrote:Dinner tonight is Spanakopita, veggies and dip, and jumbo shrimp as appetizers; then roast rabbit; chicken wings, chicken breast; potato salad; oven roasted potatoes; salad of red and yellow peppers, onion, cucumber, radishes, feta cheese, and a Greek style vineagrette.
For dessert I cheated and bought a Costco Tuxedo cake and a strawberry cheesecake.
I'm having 16 people for my first real big dinner in the condo. It's my "Thanks for helping my children in making my dining room table." Definitely a buffet style dinner!
P.S. OOOOPs, forgot the cheese platter. Costco had a delish goat cheese mixed with a basil pesto yesterday. I made that too.
This "free" table is getting quite expensive. LOL

This store ships them. They keep well for a long time, and you could freeze them.
I'm sure the shipping would be cheaper buying like 3

My DH can eat a whole box of those Hostess crumb cakes in one sitting. I looked up the Sara Lee crumb cakes and Sara Lee tells me they are at my local grocery store. I guess I haven't seen nor looked for them. I am going to see if they have some today.
Bugster2 wrote:Jimmy, I found the crumb cakes. They taste great but we were a little disappointed that the crumbs on top had sort of softened into a frosting. Not a crumb to be seen. Must have been heat somewhere in the transportation.

Yeah!.... the crumb topping was a little soft. Tina just bought a new box.....let me see. ok..... yeah. the topping is moist and not crumby. Still good though!...
I remember we used to get those coffe crumb cake kits that one if the cake box makers put together. It came with a small tin foil pan, and you added the egg and water to the batter, then there was a packet of the crumb topping you sprinkled on top. Then baked until the topping was browned and crumbly.\
Was it the same co. that made the corn bread kit??...I cannot remember!!
I checked but no plain ones.... this one below seems like it's easy enough. BTW....my sarah lee ones had crumbs like pea size, but they were soft.Bugster2 wrote:UNCLE JIMMY wrote:Bugster2 wrote:Jimmy, I found the crumb cakes.
