In your dreams Tina said!!

Oh No!!!!..... that's like death valley. Stay inside...A/C on, and drink fluids.

I can remember one time, it got to 100 degrees here. The A/C was on steady and holding 74 degrees inside. That was when I put a sprinkler on the roof to cool it down; even though I have attic ventilation fan running.

I was working that whole weekend. I told all the building owners to run the cooling all through the weekend so as not to have such a load on the systems when people arrived on monday morning. Most of them listened, but the ones that didn't were the Medical buildings, and Surgical centers. They are the cheapest when it comes to energy and conditioning operations.

When the sun went down, it was like 81 degrees overnight. The next day was rain, and it cooled a bit.

I ran across this video on my news feed this morning. What will they think of next?
Scroll down to see the video. I know my friend who had 5 children could have used this 25 years ago.

Very interesting.  I surely don't need or want one any more at this stage of my life.  I hang most of my things up.  Could have used one 30 years ago, though.

I probably couldn't have afforded back then. Now I have plenty of time and wouldn't want to use it for the space it would take.

I think my taste buds are conditioned according to the weather.....sunny & hot today and all I wanted was a hot dog charred on the grill! Silver Queen corn and macaroni salad were 'go alongs'.

No cooking for me again today!  Tomorrow is my birthday..................... yes I will be 39 AGAIN!  My son will be 50 in September, so you might want to do the math!  Sis took me out for lunch, son and DIL took me out for supper.  Lunch was an amazing seafood chowder (Hate to admit, better than what I have made) and then some chicken fettuccini with cream sauce.

Dinner with son and DIL was a fabulous top sirloin grilled Chicago style..... I never had Chicago style before, charred on the outside, middle done to your liking.  My middle was med rare.  Done perfectly, asparagus and mushrooms on the side.  Great dinner at The Keg.  I love me a steak!

I know, but it was a spur of the moment thing. Son and DIL stopped on way to grocery shopping, and said they wanted pizza from Branda's in Mt. Olive. So it was. No

Thanks!  I am going to play tourist today.  I'm going to Niagara Falls.  The Niagara Parks Commission greenhouse has two Titan Arums about to bloom.   I like going to the Falls occasionally.  We can get a year's pass for parking and to two of the attractions for just a few bucks, so I go there just for fun.  People watching is great there too!

Today we have German Pork Sausages planned. Braised with onions, then add potato wedges. Sauerkraut on the side.

Happy Birthday Lore.. hope you have fun on your special day

I've never seen this Titan Arums, though it's from my country but I have never had a chance to see it, we call it Corpse Flowers as it smells like rotten flesh.. my husband is very interested to see it, but has not had the right visiting time when it blooms at our botany garden, hopefully one day Smile

I had no idea what I want to cook for dinner today, I'm thawing some pieces of thigh meat, so either Adobo chicken or Huli Huli chicken, again

I offered to cook for this Father's Day dinner at my in-laws, my Father in-law wants some stuffed cabbage rolls, I made them before and I am pretty sure I can make them again, I need some idea what sauce is good for this dish other than tomato sauce... my FIL can't eat tomato sauce, it's on his diet list, I know if I make them with tomato sauce he would eat them anyway, he is not really a strict following advice person Smile so I'll appreciate any idea from you all, thank you

Imelda....what a nice daughter-in-law you are. Your concern for Dirk's father is greatly appreciated by Dirk and his mother, I'm sure!

You can make stuffed cabbage rolls and surround them with sauerkraut (I'd add some grated apple to take the edge off the 'sour' of the cabbage). Then you just need to keep it moist with some chicken stock or apple juice....or a combination of both.

***********

I did some chicken thighs on the grill with sweet potato and broccoli along side.

Of course, half-way through cooking the chicken the tank of gas ran out. Fortunately for me, Mr. Amazing was hungry so when I asked him to change the tank he didn't give me any trouble! LOL

Thank you Jimmy.. it has been a while since we last ate them, they were on sale, $5/each deal on Friday, so I grabbed them and baked them, they were good, but I preferred to spend my $10 on big shrimps better, more to eat to satisfy my tummy
Smile

Thank you Beth, I like the idea, I'll ask Dirk if his parents like sauerkraut or not, if so, I'll go with this idea.

It's my pleasure to cook for them, as you know I like cooking, and I'm so happy when I see them like my cooking, esp when they had second serving of it and were happy to keep the leftover for the next day
Very Happy

My mother never used tomato sauce with cabbage rolls either.  She put some extra cabbage pieces under the rolls, and I think used some stock for moisture.
