Personally, those Nabisco Chocolate Wafer cookies are my #1 favorite just to eat. Love that dark chocolate flavor and the crisp "SNAP" when you break them in half.

But, alas, I think it's been years since I've eaten them because (as we all know).......BETH HAS NO WILL POWER. She will eat the entire package given the opportunity. Therefore, Beth does not buy them anymore. But, I can live vicariously through your pics!

I remember my mom used to make them, with cooked vanilla pudding between the slices of wafer cookies, and then she would cover the log with home made whipped cream. On top, she would drop marachino cherries in a line.

Sometimes, she would put thin slices of banana in between the wafers and pudding. OMG! .... It was always finished with no leftovers.

I have sausage and peppers going.. Have no clue what kind they are,wrapped and not marked in my freezer..To bad I am not having a great big fat bun 'sigh'

No cooking for me today. Went out for lunch with my sis. We both really like a nice steak, well done............ by that I mean that the restaurant does a good job of it. I had a great fillet done med. rare, sis had a NY strip, done med. well. Veggies were carrots and broccolli done perfectly, just a little butter on them, and also perfectly done and a little crisp oven roasted potatoes.

The fillet I ordered was called a peppercorn fillet with a creamy sauce, I just said, no sauce, I like a steak to taste like a steak, not sauce. Wonderful!

Tina Mommy and GD went to the Sands in Bethlehem and naturally the are on the way home after losing. She was bringing me a corned beef sandwich from Emerils. Can't wait!

Gosh, Barb.....THAT was my original thought on tonight's supper.

even bought a red pepper.

But Dane isn't a fan of the pepper ~ says it gives him a belly ache. So, when I saw the rutabaga in the refrigerator, well, the plan for the meal changed 180°.

well I bought the peppers for stuffed and did not fix that.

Plus I only ate 2..saved 2 for lunch..the rest went next door..

Wow! Even the red and yellow peppers give him a belly ache?

Take digestive enzymes. Tina and I chew 3 or 4 after meals to eliminate gas and belly bloat. " Tastes Just Like Candy!" lol!

Warmer weather is knocking. Sick of stews and soups. Need to do more grilling.
Like sausages, or hot dogs and burgers.
Tina bought hot dogs and buns last week. I was going to grill a few, but I said,"where are the buns?" Tina said,"I put them in the big drawer!" Nooo Nooo I said. In the dark, bread gets moldy.
Surer than crapola..... I pulled them buns out of the drawer, and they were all green moldy.

Grrrrrrr!

Barb ~ ~ that steak is to die for! You certainly have perfected the "rare" steak on the grill. You go girl!

I made some crab dip.....harvested the meat from two snow crab clusters (approx. 3/4 c.), mixed with a block of cream cheese, mayo, worchestershire & a finely chopped scallion. Mixed it all, heated in the microwave then topped with some buttered panko crumbs I had stashed in the freezer for just such an occasion.....served it with some butter crackers with the neighborhood ladies as we drank Scotch or fine wine. Don't have a clue what Mr. Amazing had (quite honestly, I don't care.....LOL).

The ladies made a big deal out of the crab dip (they brought chips and smoked nuts to contribute....) but it was such an easy thing to throw together. I could have done with less Scotch, but, hey, I didn't want to be rude and refuse.......

Hahahahahahaha!

Ok people. I need your help. I can't find anything on the net about it. I saw a picture of a salad with cucumbers. The edges of the cucumbers were scalloped. How does one do it and with what tool?

Tina made potato salad. I grilled hot dogs on the grill.
Heated up a can of Bush's Beans.
Tina's Uncle Elmer ( 94 y/o ) drove up (1 hr. ) to see his brother Gabe in the nursing home, then he came here for supper. Like 8 minutes away.
For us it was a little early to eat ( 4:30 ), but at least he enjoyed the supper and the visit!

Today....Tina is cooking beef stroganof (sp? IDC ) with mushrooms.
I want a burger or two grilled. Right now it's blazing hot out at 82º. Whew! Way too hot for me.
It's 77 in the house now...so the A/C is going on soon.
I would have had it on sooner, but certain people like fresh hot stinky air by opening up every window in the house! .... GHrrrrrrr.......then they bxxch, when the electric bill is $314.00 .
