Got to take the cat back to the vet today. He is sick and isn't getting any better. I hope we don't lose him. Something is wrong with his throat. He has had x-rays and blood work, antibiotics and more and just isn't improving.
My new computer's DVD drive stopped working. I was on for hours with Toshiba. They had me re-set the unit back to factory settings which did no good. Now I have to pay to have it shipped back to Toshiba for repairs. Under warranty and I have to pay for half the shipping! What is worse is that it will break again if I use the DVD drive again. I know Toshiba's drives. It happened with my last computer. They are crap. I will just use my external drive to burn or play. To add insult to injury, I will have to spend days setting it all up again. What a PITA!
So. What's for dinner? Maybe burgers. That sounds easy. Maybe a bacon avocado burger. The problem with cooking burgers inside is it makes a hell of a mess. Grease all over the place. Maybe I will grill them but I don't really get a good crust that way.
After watching "The Hundred Foot Journey" I may stop by the Indian grocer and just smell the air. They serve hot food.
Rest up Beth! Sounds like the work and preparation paid off.bethk wrote:Barb-those shrimps are beautiful. What did you make?

I am exhausted. The weekend festivities were a lot of work but SO MUCH FUN!
The brunch came off without a problem, everyone ate, drank and talked for hours. Two of our friends helped me with the set up and clean up so it was a wonderful joint effort that we made 'look easy'. We did use Ina's advice ~ make a couple things and buy the rest. I had made banana and some zucchini mini muffins that all I had to do was reheat in a hot oven for a couple minutes to make them taste like fresh baked. Barb brought a fresh vegetable tray with some dill dip. And Carolyn and Lyn both made similar egg strattas. Lyn had ordered meats & breads & croissants & bagels to make sandwiches and a fresh fruit tray from Publix. We had sweets and cake leftover from the dinner last night. We poured mimosas as everyone arrived and Lyn pulled out the old 30-cup coffeemaker from years past ~ funny how you don't want to toss out kitchen appliances that only get used every year or two!
But now the weekend is over and we can rest. Well, Lyn will have family stay for a couple days, but...it's done and we can all relax now.
