Company coming for dinner tonight.  I finished making Beef rouladen, red cabbage, sauteed some mushrooms, will cook some Spaetzle for sopping up the yummy gravy that I will make.  Peach and grapefruit crumble for dessert.

There will also be a platter pickles, olives, etc.

Niagara - sounds like a lovey company dinner!

*************

Dane went out to pick up supper for us. He had tacos and brought me 2 'Chicken Little' sandwiches ~ Chicken Tenders on a dinner roll size bun with pickles & mayo. I add just a bit of my homemade tartare sauce.....inexpensive and tasty.

What kind of beef do you use?

I have two little fillet steaks bacon wrapped to do on the grill LATER...

The woman is here cleaning the house, and then Mr. Fussy gets his shower and scrub down.

I'm gonna sit and eat nice and quiet, all by myself. Tina is still on Death Watch at her Aunts, if you know what I mean. It's a very nerving thing. Keeps her on her toes with no good rest at all.

Good looking beef cooking. Makes me taste the juices and iron flavor.

The fillet steaks grilled never happened. Rosa got here late, and was here till dark.
Then DD stops by with my milk I asked her to pick up, but she had lobster spread, and olives and a container of cheese and tomatoes with balsamic vinegar.
I started on that stuff, and the grill never got fired up....

Tomorrow will be the steak dinner. Not for the Fussy uncle. I wouldn't want to watch him chew steak, and complain he can't chew it because it's too tough. Then to watch him spat the chewed steak in the trash can. It's such a nightmare to watch!

I thought that I had answered the question of what kind of beef I used for the rouladen....................... must be gremlins in my 'puter.  It's top round sliced very thin.

Guests are gone, there were two ladies I have befriended in the nursing home where my husband spent the last 8 months of his life.  Their husbands are still there, and are being fed daily by the loving wives.  It was nice to see them here, away from the home.  They loved the food, we had a nice evening.

It's not your memory that is missing the info, Bugster.  My 'puter didn't show what I thought I had typed.  Maybe my memory remembers things that didn't happen!

Your memory is just fine, Niagara....

Post #146 (I think) includes:

"iT'S GOING TO BE A REal German dinner (SORRY CAPS) Making Rinds Rouladen (stuffed beef steak (top round)) red cabbage, mushrooms, and Spaetzle"

So, you see, it was there.....just a small mention so it was easy for Bugs to miss.....

But isn't it nice that we're all so willing to repeat information for one another ~ a bunch of nice people here!

Thanks, no cooking today, I made enough for leftovers for me, and a full meal in the freezer for son and daughter-in-law.

It's rind of raining/drizzling today and I volunteered to help clean up a park in my area.  I'll be bitching to myself as I pick up other people's crap.  I'll be muttering "Pigs, inconsiderate pigs who don't give a  rat's ass about how to use a park" with every piece of crap I pick up.

When I see what people throw away instead of using the trash bins that are everywhere, I always wonder what people's living rooms look like.  Oh well, I hope someone sees us all, trash bags in hand and remembers the next time they have a burger wrapper in their hand.  Hope springs eternal, right?

My mother's new next door neighbors tossed all of their used Pampers into her yard. I put on some gloves, picked them up and tossed them back over the fence. I think they got the message.

The people next to my parents house used to flip their cigarette buts over the railing right in moms yard.
Also the beer and soda pop caps....

mom picked them all up, and put them on the hoods of their cars in the back lot.
They got the message. A pail with sand was on their porch after that!

I once lived next door to a couple with two Great Danes. This was at the beach where there is about 4 feet between houses. The dogs would poop on the balcony and the 19-year old wife would toss the piles over the railing into the area between our houses. Stink? you wouldn't believe. My DH called animal control which put a stop to that real fast.

Ohhhh, meatball subs! Mr. Amazing is on a "I don't want to eat carbs" kick right now. But as soon as he's back to eating 'normal' foods, that's going on my menu plan! I'll probably make my meatballs the Tina way ~ they were so nice and tender. Mmmmmm!

Trash pickup was cancelled because of rain.  There's a monsoon out there.  There is also a Greek festival going on.  I was planning to go there tomorrow.  I love Greek food!

Wow! What a nice lazy tiresome day. Raining out...cool 68º out, and dark. Kitties are sleeping, and I just about am ready to take a nap myself... No ....I guess not this time...I'm feeding the uncle now, then I will eat when he is done!....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ time warp ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1 hour...
I ate, I'm done.....I'm happy and full. Made the fillet steaks wrapped in bacon. I had tater tots and cut beans.
We went down the street to the Country Club...they just changed the menu. Normally I get a nice fish & chips special, 2 pieces of lightly battered fish and some French fries.
Now they have 'Corn Flake Breaded Grouper Fingers' ~ the corn flakes weren't crushed, they were whole. OMG - so much breading. I ate one piece, brought the rest home. Hopefully Dane will peel off the breading and reheat for a lunch. Oh, and the 'tartar sauce' was sweet - REALLY sweet. I finally asked if they had any 'regular' mayo based tartar sauce and the waitress brought me some.
