Boy, it's gonna be a long hot summer. I'm already pullin' straws trying to come up with ideas for meals that don't require much work or heat. (It's actually beautiful weather here, but today I just wanted to do a test run of a summer salad meal.....)
I think I saw something on a cooking site that set my mouth for one of those Oriental Ramen Salads ~ all the rage a few years ago. Usually it makes way too much for two people so the only time you get one is if there's a Pot Luck or BBQ Get Together with a lot of people. It's not one of those salads you can hold over ~ gets soggy and that equals "ICKY".....
But, I split the package of Broccoli Slaw and only used half the ramen noodles. Dane probably won't be jumping for joy but we'll probably have a repeat in less than a week to use the rest. I don't think it's good with anything else.
What bugged me was I went to the store to just get ONE package of Chicken Ramen Noodles. Winn Dixie had them on special this week ~ 6 in a pack for $1. Yup, a buck. But what in the world am I ever going to do with 5 more packs of that wretched stuff? I only wanted the noodles. I don't use the 'chicken seasoning pack' that's included.
Maybe I'll use the opportunity to go through my pantry and make a drop off at the food pantry. I must surely have something decent to offset the nasty noodles. And I'll have to wear a wig and sunglasses so I don't get recognized,,,,,
I just did chicken chunks again.....easy and quick. Tossed 'em on top of the mixed salad and said, "Supper's on!"
