Yeah, that's for sure! And it doesn't hurt that my burger was made with the fresh ground chuck that Fresh Market sells every Tuesday at $2.99/lb. It's as good as I can find around here.

Imelda, your lasagna looks fabulous. Finding a whole brisket around here is hard too. They usually only sell brisket flats that have all the fat trimmed off and those can be dry and tough when smoked. They are usually crock pot cooked.

I came in the kitchen and found our Roomie's cats waiting to add cat hair to my dinner.

My cat has added a bunch of habits lately.She has overactive thyroid and is never full,she wants to eat eat eat.I have caught her on my range top lol Once she jumped up as I was chopping carrots. Now she will not drink out of the water bowl.She drinks from my cup/glass on the coffee table. So I have to give her own cup/glass. lol.She also now wants to lick me.Hand,fingers,arm,once last week licked my forehead till I got a raw spot and I had to put med cream on it ...weird....

Our cat didn't get on the kitchen countertops (that I was aware of), only the large bathroom counter where he wanted to drink out of the sink of running water.

Our dog wasn't allowed in the kitchen when I was cooking or we were eating.....much easier to train the dog than the cat! But a spray water bottle would be the first thing I'd have sitting at my fingertips if I walked into my kitchen and saw those animals lounging. I like animals but I prefer them to know limits.

Great idea! I was wondering how to keep them off the block. A spray bottle! I will give that a try. My cats (not hers) don't get on countertops. We never had an issue with that. They will, on occasion, lounge on the bathroom counter, but usually only when it is hot. My DH once had an Irish setter that used to sleep on his back in the bathtub when he was hot. He looked like a dead cockroach.

A spray bottle! With vinegar..I have one full to get after Maggie..my problem child...She has a mean streak a mile wide..One time she got into with Molly and I just happened to have full glass of iced tea..yup I threw the whole glass on her, she took notice then..Priceless look on her face.. But then I had to clean it up lol.

Nothing sounds good to me tonight. I think I'll just skip supper and maybe tomorrow will be a better day. Well, at least until lunch tomorrow when I'm going to meet the neighborhood ladies for lunch at the local Italian restaurant.....

Yeah, I can go without tonight so I can indulge tomorrow.

Very pretty! I love that we no longer have to depend upon GREEN peppers. The red, yellow & orange have such better flavor (and, IMO, much less gas inducing properties).

Nothing here for dinner!.... Tina is going to Wendy's to pick up a burger and fries for Gabe.

The kitties have their own table next to the island. The crunchy's and water are on it. They don't dare come on the counters or else. Yet, one will get a bug up the butt, and try to jump up, but they get a lot of NOOoooooooo's and splashes with water.
God only knows where they climb at night, so first thing in the morning, Tina or I scrub down the countertops with lysol wipes.
When cooking.... they get chased out of the kitchen. If they show stupidity and wont scat, out comes the dredded vacumm cleaner.

Nothing here for dinner, either. Went out for appetizers with Lyn after she had an appointment at the square ~ way too much even sharing.

Jimmy - great idea on keeping the vacuum close by. That's a quick way to get them to vacate the area! LOL

I opened the fridge this evening and the sun was coming through the window and hit the door in just the right way and I saw that all of the jars in the door were covered in cat hair. So gross! I had to wipe everything down and I am sure there is so much more that I couldn't see.
Roomies at that now sleeps on top of the butcher block isn't fazed by a vacuum cleaner. I did try spraying the water and she freaked out and almost hurt herself flying off the block. I guess I will push a chair up next to it so she can jump on it before hitting the floor.
