I made a roast ham the other day,,SO now the pan is really messed up.

Burned on black gunk..I have been messing with it for hrs.I do not want any fat or mess in my disposal.JUST got that drained working..

I'd fill with cold water (past the burned stuff if possible) and then add a cup of baking soda, turn on the heat and bring to a boil. Then leave a lid on it and let it sit until cool (usually overnight).

That usually works for me.

Then again, you could start looking for some garage sales in your neighborhood.....

(I've been lining my roasting pans with heavy duty foil just to avoid just that situation)

Did that one time & the foil stuck to pan & had to throw out.

If it sticks I just peel off what I can and then let it soak in hot water until it finally gives way.

Throw the pan far far away!....

I just bought a grill pan last year, and DD cooked bacon on it to really crispy.
Then she poured maple syrup on the bacon, and burned the sugar to black like tar.
I soaked that darn pan in acid ( nope ) then EZ off oven cleaner...( Nope )....tried potassium hydroxide full strength....NOPE!.... Steam / Boiled the pan / even used the plumbers torch too see if it would burn off and flake off......

Wound up trashing the pan.
