I had pulled the last of the frozen casserole dishes of stuffed shells out of the freezer the day before yesterday so it could thaw in the refrigerator. So tonight was stuffed shells, a bagged salad and a bakery hard roll.

Delicious looking shells Beth.

Great idea for the sloppy Joes Barb...I would have prefered that instead of what we had tonight.

I made an eye round roast in the George Forman Rotisseri.
Mashed potatoes Tina whipped up, and canned green beans. The only one who complained was Gabe. He couldn't chew the beef. Too cheap and lazy to get his plate and missing teeth frixed. It will be minute steaks for him from now on.

DD is here making Christmas cookies. Hundreds of them.
I am waiting for the gingerbread man cookies to bake.
Oooops! ... gotta go steal one; they just came out of the oven.
There are so many pans and boxes of chocolate and chips and flour all over the kitchen, we had to eat wherever we could find a space. I ate on the computer desk in the back room. I took some pictures, and will post them when I could get to the kitchen corner where my computer central is. LOL

Photobucket is acting up. I have three of the same pictures posted when I only put one on, and then deleted two of them and now they are back and other pictures are missing.

I see the great looking
pork chops now.

My Maria made a pork shoulder in the slow cooker after marinading it in apple cider.
It was delicious tasting.

No cooking here today, again.................. took my son daughter-in-law and a friend out for a really nice brunch. I learned to like raw oysters, that makes the ridiculous price almost worth it, doesn't it?

I have looked at and even tried one of those slippery suckers (oysters) before, but never got the hang of them. However, lately I am on a "QUEST" to do things, and try things that might be unusual.

So, today I figured that if I am spending $47./person, the food must be good, and they know of what they speak/serve. So, I had three fresh oysters on the half shell. The first one with Frank's hot sauce, the second with basic seafood sauce, the third with horseradish.............. now, my fav. is horseradish for meat, but the hot sauce on the oyster won.

They also had lots, and lots of other really good food! Great time with my children and friend, and really, isn't that what is important?

Goodness gracious, Norm! You did a fabulous job on making that meal look like it was fit for royalty. Love the garnish. The entire meal looks super yummy...great job.

TONIGHT .... Inspired By Barbara, will be Sloppy Joes. Now, I told Tina to only use the frozen peppers (red , Yellow ) and leave the green out. I said, please dice them frozen, and add them to the onions in the slop pot with the ground beef.

For a change, we are going to have them on Pepperridge Farms Split Top New England Rolls.
The sloppy Joes are in my estimation, better on the split top rolls because they can be filled a lot more than on hamburger buns. Geeze, so then they will be Half Sloppy Joes!! hahaha
I am gonna throw a slice of cheese on mine. Never did that before...ever.

I was at a total loss as to what to fix for supper. Nothing much in the refrigerator.....except for the lonely zucchini that were getting past their prime. So, a grilled burger & sauted zucchini w/onion is what made it on our plates. If he gets hungry he can ask me for a cookie. (and he better ask, "Please?")

Had the Sloppy Joes tonight. Had them ...2 on new England style split top hot dog rolls, and with Barbs style with slice of cheese on top. They were so good like that. Then, I was still hungry, so I had one on the heel of white bread, and slapped the cheese on the bottom. WoW....That was good too!
DD was making more cookies today, so I had my dessert all day as a cookie taster.

Son was here to hang some shelves etc., so we had a late lunch of cheese and crackers. Not enough for supper, though, so I just had a bunch if shrimp.

Last night we went to Lyn's for the Special Olympics Volunteer Appreciation get together. I made the bacon wrapped Little Smokies with a brown sugar/honey/chili powder glaze. The dish was empty when I was ready to leave. I love that!

Special Olympics Volunteer? So, I assume that you volunteer there? Good for you, I think that is such a great opportunity.

Today is my first day volunteering in the nursing home where my hubby spent his last 8 months of life. As most nursing homes, the Heidehof has their monthly birthday party for residents, so they need help getting everyone into the ballroom for coffee and cake. As for what's for dinner tonight, I have no idea.

Speaking of disappeared. I went to a boat parade party Saturday night at my sister's. We had sliced up a chocolate babka and put it on a plate. We also pulled out a second one on the counter. It was still wrapped. Somehow, that babka vanished. POOF! Gone! Someone (a thief among friends) bagged that sucker and took it home.

I found a site that has 'em at a reasonable price....

But I'd check out my most suspicious friends for crumbs on their chin!
