I was going to grill a pork sirloin chop for supper but Mr. Amazing has decided he wants to go out for something else.

Being the dutiful wife I am, why would I argue?

lol

I made a pot of lasagna soup for dinner tonight. It is a bit hot for soup but it was easy to make.

Bugs....I always drank hot coffee at work. I didn't work inside a nice air conditioned building either....I worked installing air conditioning systems on hot building rooftops unable to escape the sun and heat. Mad

The hot coffee made it feel cooler in the heat outside.

Niagara Visitor

Salad plate tonight with assorted greens as a base, three different cheeses, arranged at the edges, a hard cooked egg in the middle, fanned out in wedges, radish slices between for colour, orange pepper slices, a half an avocado, some feta sprinkled over, and then some sardines tucked in where there's space. Ranch dressing. It was so pretty I should have taken a picture. I have a friend living with me for a while, she's working late, so I ate mine, hers is in the fridge.

It surely does sound pretty. Tasty too!...
The sardines really sound good to me.

Barbara101 wrote:Thanks Bugs. Think it has to do with allergy.I was nausea & dizzy.Still.So I go easy today.

I was also sick on Saturday and Sunday, though I felt a lot better today.  Low grade fever on Saturday, headaches, burning sinuses (which probably means I snored like a garbage truck while sleeping) and also nausea.  Brian is a doll but I just like to be left alone when I'm not feeling well.  He kept coming in to decide what he'd cook since I wasn't feeling well -- food is the last thing I want when I'm sick.  I remind him but he still reverts back to the same thing.

I was grouchy, too!  He wanted to know how I make my tomato casserole, as we had tons of Creole tomatoes.  I told him I din't have it written down and really didn't feel like thinking or talking about food.  No problem, he said, but in a couple of hours, he started up with that tomato casserole again.  Today, when I felt better, I made him the freaking tomato casserole -- does he watch what I did so he could make it next time?  Nope.  Just relaxed on the hammock on the back deck.  He did crank up the Weber, though, to "bake" it for me.

I made some bucatini with homemade pesto sauce and crispy bacon pieces on top and that's what we had with the tomato casserole.  It was good and not too heavy for a HOT day...

CB that sounds like me..I also cough a lot. being light headed is what I hate.inner ear thing too. It will last a day or two.

You need to write it down lol.Bother my kids would ask & ask & ask for the same recipe every yr.So I told them WRITE it down ..Actually that sounds good.

I got all of 3 tomato's.Not going to both again. It was fun to have my own grown green beans & peppers & squash but theygone...My black thumb is back..

My younger DD does the same thing when asking me about 'how' to make a certain dish. She's asked me over and over again (on the phone) how to cook rice. Geesh! I wrote down the instructions for her and taped it to the container she stores her rice in. Unfortunately (for her) she removed the sticker and started using the container for something else.

Oh well, I guess some people just prefer having it made 'for them' !

Glad you're feeling better. These allergy things are such a PITA.

Sounds more like a virus than allergy for both of you.

Tina and I are both just getting over the grungy throat achey bones syndrome.
I named it the "Slot Machine Pull Handle Germs".
Tina went to the Poconos to the casino with the church group last week or so ago.
Three days later she was with the Grungy Throat Ache.
Then gave it to me. Or I took it from her.

No way to avoid the germ with the house closed up, and the A/C on.

When I'm sick, I just want to be left alone. No talking....no suggestions of what to eat, or when to eat. haaaaaaaa.....

Maybe puck can cook? but he cannot make / sell good pots and pans or other stuff with his name on it.
I sent back pans with lids that did not fit, and out of 6 electric pepper grinder sets, only one worked. Tina bought them for xmas gifts on HSN ....Thank god I checked them before giving them out to friends. Mad

We're gonna have "Susan's Meatballs" for supper.

hamburger meat / onions / bread cubes / egg / salt and pepper...oval shape / dredged in flour / fry lightly, and finish in oven in a casserole pan covered with cream of mushroom soup. cook till top browns and bubbling hot.

Mixed frozen veggies .... potatoes??? .... I eat bread and butter instead. Tina and Uncle can eat taters.

It was (obviously from looking at my pic....) 'green & yellow' night at my table....

Grilled summer squash and fried corn & beans to go with my pork sirloin chop. No complaints, just looks kind of strange to me. lol

I LIKE ketchup.....nanana na na! lol

I don't understand how it can be SO hot where you live when it's so far north of me.

We have hot, well, not as hot as you ~ but temps in the low 90's. We usually get a rainstorm or cloud cover in the late afternoon (which helps drop the temp back down to reasonable) but I can't say it's any worse than Ohio in the summer....maybe it just lasts longer here, IDK.

It's not so hot that I can't sit outside in one of my rocking chairs and listen to the birds after supper. That's a pretty comfortable thing to be able to do. I like the fact I don't have any flies or mosquitos to bother me. I just sit and watch the geckos run around.
