That's just a 'heads-up' for the rest of you.
Tonight's supper was Chicken Marsala ~ normally a favorite of mine. UNFORTUNATELY, I did NOT look at the bottle of Marsala I pulled out of the liquor cabinet.
SWEET Marsala.
Need I say more? It wasn't inedible...but it wasn't good, either. Dane salt/peppered his serving heavily and had no problem. I strained out the mushrooms & onions and tried not to get too much sauce. Thank goodness I knew not to spoon that sauce on my noodles!
You win some, you lose some......((sigh))
Uhh! "I pulled out of the liquor cabinet?" Wow!...We haven't had a liquor cabinet since the mid 70's. That brings back memories of the 60's, when the liquor cabinet was the thing to have.
I remember, the bottles of whatever in the sliding door one that we had. Half of those bottles soon became just a collection of bottles, with like a 1/2 cup of whatever it held. Then, there was the drink mixer cup. All chrome, with the chrome strainer in the top.
Then, we had dozens of those quick mix packets of like whisky sour mix powder.
One I remember one packet, with the Mom with her babooshka on and cooking something, while a mixed drink sat next to her. We chucked all them in the garbage when we used the cabinet for the kids shoes.
Now, the liquor cabinet, is a big milk crate in the spare room closet.
Some wines are in the spare fridge or in the laundry room on the cement cool floor. LOL
