While this may not be the true Bacon Butty Sandwich, it is the way I like to make mine.
Bacon Butty Sandwich
6 slices (thick sliced) smoked bacon
2 slices of bread, toasted and buttered
tomato ketchup, use desired amount
salad dressing, use desired amount
Cook bacon until crisp, then set on paper towels to drain off the fat.
Spread desired amount of ketchup on one side of the toasted/buttered bread.
Spread desired amount of salad dressing on the other slice of the toasted/buttered bread.
Place the strips of crispy cooked bacon between the toasted bread, and enjoy your Bacon Butty Sandwich.
Makes: 1 sandwich (1 serving)
Note: Whenever I make this sandwich, I like to use an apple wood smoked bacon, like Patrick Cudahy Sweet Apple-Wood Smoked Bacon, and the sort of breads I've use to make this sandwich have been white bread, whole wheat bread, and SaraLee Artesano Style Bread. Also, after you assemble your sandwich, you will notice the strips of bacon will extend out past both sides of the bread, but that's ok. I like to bite off the ends of the bacon first, then enjoy the rest of the sandwich.
