Knife broke!

I can't believe this. I dropped one of my Global knives on the floor and it broke right in half at where the handle meets the blade. I had no idea metal could be so brittle. I would expect the tip to break or maybe a chip out of the edge but not at the handle.

I have seen this a lot.Never happened to me.I see folks on fb pages with broken knives pictures.scary if you ask me..

That's awful. I hope it wasn't a "favorite"....

I'd contact them. They may replace it for free. If you use Twitter, I often tweet things about products breaking or not meeting my satisfaction. You'd be surprised how quickly they make things right.

Also if you're on Facebook, go to their page and post what happened. They monitor those pages really well, too.

Definitely contact the company to see if they will replace it!

My DH took the knife to work and had it welded.

The knife was not annealed properly when made.

Too hard, it will crack. It happened to me. When I was in HS, I made my dad a screwdriver with a knurled handle, and the shop teacher annealed it in the furnace.
Dad used it once, and it just cracked in half like it was made of glass.
