We used a reverse thinking of what to have for dinner tonight!
I brought up a new jar of our home canned apple sauce, and we thought of things to have with it to eat for supper. Tina came up with braised pork steaks with loads of onions and potato wedges. Yummm!
I want broccoli for a veggie!
Tina is at the Hospital for a test, and her friend Carol took her. When she gets back home, she is going to bake a vanilla cake with butter cream icing. That's her favorite, and she deserves it.
Then tonight, we watch the NH primary voting results, and all while it snows. Not much! Only 2 inches here, but it makes everything so pretty and clean again!

Well guess what?.... She's really p'd off. She turned that stupid twist kitchen timer on for 26 minutes for the cake in the oven. She was in the kitchen, and said to me,"listen for the timer"....
Well guess what? I went downstairs to clean the poopy boxes, and the timer went off, and she didn't hear it. The cake didn't burn because she smelled it.
Took it out in time, and then I came sliding in, and said,"Hmm, maybe I should have baked the cake!" .... That's it! Now I'm in the dog house!

Did you put the butter amount that the recipe on the box calls for?
I made them like that, and they were hard as a rock. I think it called for 1/4 cup? Tina said always use a stick and a half of butter.

I haven't had a Rice Krispie Treat in years but yep, we love them, too! Brian just passed by, saw your picture, Beth, and said, "Ooh, I love those."

No extra butter, Jimmy. Just the 3 Tbsp. it called for, 1 bag of mini marshmallows & 6 c. of Rice Krispies. Turns out Joshua loves 'em but Tori only took one little bite (to be polite) ~ she doesn't like the stickiness. Could have something to do with her retainer on her teeth.
I made a pork tenderloin, baked sweet potato (for me) ~ kids wanted fried leftover buttered/parsley noodles ~ broccoli & cauliflower and some fried apples.
Both of them ate supper so I'm going to mark that one down as a success. Last meal for me to fix. I fly back home in the morning. Dane says it's cold at home but it's got to be warmer than the 24 degrees here with snow blowing'......I do NOT like snow, or icy roads, or seeing my breath when I go outside.

I think I may get drunk for the first time in my life. I took apart the cable box, DVD player and stereo receiver and forgot to write down how everything is connected. I thought I could remember it all. The only thing I remember is that I have $hit for brains. I have contacted Cox 7 times with no results. Their tech help is useless. I am worn out. I am very angry at my husband too for going to the beach instead of helping me with this mess.

Trust me, the cable mess is not worth a first time drunk! But, I understand your frustration. I hate electronics, and am very happy that I have a son who lives closeby who comes to rescue me. My remote for the cable died. Cable company sent me a new one, but I haven't managed to program it yet. Waiting for son in the next couple of days. I have two TVs so I can still watch what I like.

Bugs....everytime I call the cable company, I feel as though I need a drink!! I mean it..
I do hae to call them soon, dreading it...The TV in my bedroom cannot get any TV....crazy... Thank Goodness I do not watch tv in bed very often..but when I do, I want an operational TV...not one which I cannot view...I am paying for the service..and I have none.. I absolutely refuse to paying for a service call..they insist on charging me for a service call ......so furious at Comcast!!

Comcast quietly dropped a couple stations I have always got while raising the price last month. Google Fiber is installing very high speed cable in this area of the country and we are signed up for it. At first it was a toss-up in price but Comcast just shot themselves in the foot in that regard. I have been put out with them for so long I was ready to change in any case. I can't wait to drop them.

Supper was fine tonight! Those pork steaks were so nice and caramelized with the onions, and the meat just fell off the bones.
And the cake Tina made was awesome.
