Well, Jimmy, I can't fix either Mexi Corn OR succotash with peppers because the sweet peppers do a number on 'his' digestive system. He'd be up all night. Funny thing is though....he could eat it IF made with super hot peppers. Strange.

My dad loved peppers, and he ate them. Only thing was he had to have his pack of rolaids or tums handy. Yet, he could eat any hot peppers with no problems.

I just finished supper, and I'm looking at your plate of food, and drueling.

Maybe boring veggies alone, but adding the orzo kicked it up 10 notches.

I ate an sliced egg sandwich on a pit pocket split in half. Lots of black pepper, and slathered with mayo. Bead and butter pickles on the side!
It surely was a challenge eating that. I could have used 5 more fingers to keep it from flopping.

T just made a monkey bread pull-aparts. You know how addicting they are. I could only eat one! ...One dozen, that is.

Tina and Gabe had leftover stuffed cabbages, and mashed potatoes.

"Guess who's coming to dinner?"
The Shepherd.....because we are going to have Shepherds Pie...
So Tina will play Little Bo Peep, and make that pie. What do you think? You think Little Bo Peep Lost her sheep? ... Nawwwww!!!..... She ground them up and made shepherds pie for her and"Humpty Dumpty Jimmy!".... Bahhhhh Bahhhhhhh Bahhhhhhh! and they all lived happily ever after. amen.

Didn't know what to fix for supper....opened the freezer in the kitchen and I saw the ham steak. OK, that's it. Did most of the ingredients in the microwave to get them started and then finished the casserole off in the toaster oven.

So whats with lemons? I buy small ones and they are thin skinned full of seeds. Buy big ones and less seeds but less juice and thick skins??

I bought one a couple weeks ago and it was perfect....NO seeds and tons of juice.

Unfortunately, I forgot to put it in the refrigerator after I cut it (it was 'hiding in plain sight' on the countertop) and by the morning it was all dried out.....

bet my next one is nothing BUT seeds!

LOL

I am one of those weird people who likes to eat lemons. I have since I was a kid. I will always look for thin skinned lemons. The thick ones have a lot of oil in the skins and squeezing them not only yields a small of juice but the oil in the skin makes it bitter. I'd much rather strain out the seeds than get little but bitter juice.

I don't know where this came from, but mom said, when she was little, they brushed their teeth with the inside of lemon or orange peels to make their teeth white.
First with baking soda, on their index finger and rub rub rub.......then a follow up with the lemon peels.
Oh! ....and they used the lemon peel over and over.

My BIL has the strangest lemon tree. It is about 7 feet wide and low to the ground, maybe 4 feet tall. It produces these huge lemons that as big as a grapefruit. Skin is about 2 inches thick but the flesh also has tons of juice. I wonder if I could grow a tree from those seeds.

If is isn't some kind of hybrid you should be able to grow a tree from a seed. Lemons right off of a tree are usually sweeter than store bought.

It's my understanding that the majority of citrus trees are grafted varieties added to root stock that, although able to grow and thrive, will not produce fruit on it's own. So, if you want a tree to produce fruit, go to the nearest nursery and pick one out. I bought a 'Cocktail' tree at Home Depot last spring. It's suppose to be Meyer Lemon and Lime. I have seven lemons on it and one teeny, tiny marble size lime. They say the lemons should be ripe by November - they are starting to turn from green to yellow now.

Supper was a roast beef with onions and tomato; then slathered with mayonnaise. On Italian bread.
THen.... T made deviled eggs. I had six before I told her to take them away and hide them.
Gonna have blueberry squares for dessert soon.
