Sounds good Norm, but don't laugh! I use thin slices of mild provolone, AND cheese whiz! .... That way, I get the creaminess of the whiz, and the stretchy stringiness of the provolone. LOL I paint the bun inside with the whiz, then broil the whiz til it starts to turn brown and bubble first. Then the steak / the onions / the peppers sometime, and topped with the provolone, and in the broiler again to melt.Ummmm! pig

Supper was the split ham and pea soup. Some fish sticks, and a Boston Cream Doughnut with a nice cup of coffee later on!

Supper is already baked. All we need to do, is heat it up later when we are ready to eat!.........

Hamburger / mashed potatoes / vegetables / cheese / with tops of blue tube buns. and baked in the oven.

I'll post a pic later!

Ummm! Looks so good Barb! ...

Funny thing is... I had like 11 nice size boiled shrimp left over from a couple days ago, and I was wishing for a nice shrimp salad on a New England split top roll.
hahahaha... I took out the shrimp, took one to eat, took two....then three..
Before I got to make the shrimp salad, they were gone, and in my belly!

Talk about lack of will power huh? ... And then I was P'd off at myself!!

Didn't est the casserole Tina made. Poor Tina forgot to put the tomato sauce in the recipe.

She was in the recliner, and said to me.... "the casserole is done and in the oven hon, if you want to eat early!" ... I scooped a potion out, and I said to her, "Hey hon, you didn't put in the sauce!"

She said,"It doesn't take sauce!" .... I said, "were you thinking of Shepherds pie?"

She said,"Oh Crap!" .... "I forgot, and thought I was making Shepherds pie!"
" Boy am I losing it. or what?"she said! ...... LOL

Yes, you have, too, heard of bangers, Jimmy.

Bangers & Mash.....sausages w/mashed potatoes, sometimes with cabbage cooked with the potatoes.

They're a mild fresh pork sausage. I just browned them in a cast iron skillet and then added the grapes and finished them in the oven at 400 for about 25 minutes so the grapes would break down. They're pretty tasty.

You can call it whatever you want.....and I think the Lo Mein refers to the noodles.....you got noodles under there. Qualifies as far as I'm concerned. ((at least that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!))

Haaa... seriously I never heard of sausages called bangers, but I then looked it up, and they say the Irish ones are filled with a certain bread crumbs and eggs somehow. The English ( Britain ) ones do not use the eggs.

I love sausages like Tina gets at the German Pork store.

We use those Jones' Breakfast pork sausages a lot. I like the ones in the casing, but not the brown and serve ones that are already cooked.

I love breakfast sausage and my favorite is Farmland but they are hot and one bite gives me a terrible gut ache all day. I need to find a milder sausage. I don't like the precooked variety either. We don't have a big selection out here: Jimmy Dean chubs, Johnsonville. I am not sure I have seen a fresh Jones or not. Does anyone have a suggestion for a relatively mild sausage? I might have to start making my own but I don't have a casing source nearby and frankly I really don't want to stuff my own.

I also use the Jones sausages. I have to have it mild also. It seems the older I get the less tolerance I have to anything a bit spicy....sweet yes, spicy no..

Bugs....Tina said if your store makes their own sausages, they would have casings in the back room, and the butcher may sell you a ring or two.
If the store has the casings...they would be in meat / frozen, and they are packed in salt.

When I only make a yard or two of sausage, I mix and then stuff with a hand stuffer. hahhahahaa.... A hand stuffer, is a cone, like a funnel but with a larger outlet , that you use your thumb, LOL...to force the meat into the casings. What a Face

I wear a nitrile glove when I use the hand stuffing method.
Gosh! I remember Sausage Day when I was a kid. EVERYBODY Helped!
I remember the Italian ladies, mixing and stuffing By Hand, 65 Lbs. Of meat into the casings!

My job was to poke holes in the filled casings with a new hair pin, to relieve the air out of the sausage. LOL

The Jones' are frozen, but are not cooked. They are with the small casings, and they are mild.

I used to like Bob Evans but it seems to taste like Jimmy Dean lately. I think they are putting more fillers in both. They don't have as firm a texture as they used to. Doesn't Jimmy Dean have a mild and hot sausage?

This one is a great tasting recipe, and mild. You would have to do a re-measure for a smaller amount!

• BREAKFAST SAUSAGE

• 6-3/4 pounds ground pork

2 tablespoons and 3/4 teaspoon dried sage

2 tablespoons and 3/4 teaspoon Kosher salt

1 tablespoon and 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

3/4 teaspoon dried marjoram

3 tablespoons and 1 teaspoon brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes  ( The sweet pepper, NOT HOT )

3-1/4 pinches ground cloves (( Watch the clove, not too much! PINCHES ))

Thanks for the recipe Jimmy.
I saw that Jones has a store search function but unfortunately their sausage is not available in the area. No wonder I hadn't seen it.
