Oh Harris Teeter has such great meats and seafood . The best fruit and veggies I have seen in a grocery store . I would have no fear in doing that.

I'm with you Norm. Unless I am sick and can't get out, I prefer to pick out my own groceries.

Walmart and Safeway here have delivery service too.. but for me, the idea of grocery shopping is going to the store, walk around and around to see what I want and what I need Cool

Yeah, me too. Grocery shopping is a social outing for me. I go to grocery stores when I'm on vacation because I think it's so interesting to check out what's available at different parts of the country. I loved shopping in Maine ~ the fresh seafood selections were wonderful.

I was planning to make Tuscan Chicken and ATK smokey potato salad for us all but last night Charlie told me Cassie wanted him to make a romantic dinner for her then see a movie on DVD. She wants Fondue. He was taken a little aback at the recipe and I couldn't find a ready to go packet at the store so I made a packet for him. He needs to heat some wine, sprinkle in the grated cheeses with the other ingredients mixed in and it should be ready to go. I also made some sour dough french bread but I was planning to do that anyway. I have been keeping us in bread this winter instead of buying very much.

Anyway I made the chicken and potato salad and will have it by myself. They can have some left overs if they get hungry later tonight. I didn't take a picture of the chicken and potato salad.

Dane is prepping for his test (guess which one....???) tomorrow so I picked up a frozen dinner. Gosh, but it's been YEARS since I've eaten a frozen dinner. I got some sort of 'steamer' thingy - rice, chicken & vegetables that are steamed above a bowl of sauce.

We'll see how that goes. I asked him if it would bother him to smell 'food' but he said he'd have a cup of his fat-free chicken broth at the same time and he could pretend it's 'supper'.

Poor guy. He's been through the mill with a ton of tests lately.

Hey, Jimmy......speaking of tests....how's it going for Tina? Does she have anything scheduled yet or is she still in the 'look-and-see' part?

Have you gone to the doc to see if you can get something to relieve YOUR pain?

I sure as heck don't want someone else to pick out my cuts of meat for me.

There is one supermarket by us, ( Weis ) who will take your order on line, then pull it for the time you want to pick it up.
Every item has a # like a PLC code that differentiates between brand / size etc.

BTW Norm. Tina said she broke down and bought the recipe book from
Cooks Country. If you need a recipe, she will get it for you! LOL

Dr. said rest. No walking to force the pain. I am finding Nuprin to at least ease the pain enough to walk downstairs to clean the poopy boxes, and put the garbage in the garage till DD stops by to throw it in the big container.

Tina finally got an appointment with a colon / rectal surgeon yesterday.
DIL's cousin works for the dr. as a nurse Practitioner.
She was examined, and he found a sack caused by diverticulitis that burst, and found its way into the uterus wall, and tomorrow she is scheduled at 11:15 for her CT scan.
She starts prepping tonight at 8, and into the 30 minutes before the CT.
I swear she has to drink two bottles of that white stuff. Yuck!

Hope Danes tests get done and over with....so that way you can cook, and both enjoy a great meal.

Earlier this morning, Tina made a pan of lasagna for the neighbor who helped clean the snow for us. She made a loaf pan smaller size for us.
Then she made a beef veggie soup with tiny meatballs for tomorrow, and for GD tonight. She loves Grandmas soup!

Boy, aren't we a bunch of pathetic sickies????

Dane's had one test after another....had a CT w/contrast for his coridod (?) artery. The first time the tech blew his vein and put the iodiene in his muscle.....caused severe cramping. Had to reschedule for two days later. That one he had a nurse instead of the tech find a good vein. Tomorrow is his colonoskopy (sp?) so he's prepping all day / night. And Monday, before I leave for Indianapolis, he has a CT for aortic anuorism (sp?) test. Geesh! He doesn't have any symptoms. Guess it's all covered by Medicare.......

If they are still like they were years ago when I bought one, they won't leave you alone now. Be careful or they will even start sending you books you didn't know about and a bill to go with them.

Norm are you still using your starter from KAF?

Yes I still use that starter. It is at least 4 or 5 years old by now. In the summer, I usually let it set, unattended in the refrigerator for several months, then spend a couple weeks waking it back up.
