I have been planning this kitchen remodel for quite some time. The kitchen in my home was absolutely gorgeous (ask LisaSD) but it was about as functional as....well, I don't want to swear. It wasn't functional at all.
I hired a kitchen designer and it was the best money I spent. She came up with a design that was way more than I dreamed of.
The cabinet designer has been building our cabinets for weeks and they are installed, but without the skins on them. They are so nice.
We are replacing the beautiful but ridiculously unfunctional slate counters with granite. I had a pro style range but they didn't have a range hood. Again, really stupid. So I have a hood that will be installed on Monday. I am finally getting my 6 burner dual fuel pro range. I was going to do something cheaper and DH reminded me that this was going to be my last kitchen and if I didn't get it now, I'd never get one. Big splurge!!!
I've got all new lighting going in, new sink and faucet even though the existing ones were perfectly fine.
I'll post photos when it's done, but this has been so much work and I don't do well with messes. My kitchen 'stuff' is all over the house.
It should be usable by 7/7 and the backsplash should be installed a few days later. A coat of paint and it'll be complete.
And of course, you may know that I lost a lot of weight and don't eat much any more, so I'll be cooking for others.
Since my DH told me the only way I'd get him out of this house is to break his cold dead hands from it....so I hope I have many years to enjoy the fruits of my labor.
