I ordered one of these (yeah for the free extra bowl promotion that your link informed me about) for Brian for his birthday.  We have an electric White Mountain freezer that we really love, but it's for greater amounts.  This is a perfect size for him and we have an ice cream cookbook in which almost every recipe makes 1-1/2 quarts, just perfect for this machine.  He'll be able to fit 1.5 quarts in the freezer and won't have to give so much away when we make it!

His birthday isn't until late June but he's so much like a kid that he'll probably see it delivered and won't be able to resist opening it.  If he's out of the house when it comes, I'll save it for his actual birthday to surprise him.

oh goodie..

I just got a catalog from Sur La Table. They have a new Cuisinart ice cream maker at twice the price but it has different churning speeds to make gelato and whatever. I am waiting to read the reviews on that one.

I make this in mine.Comes out perfect.I have seen that one too, I am happy with the size I have.
