I was tempted to pick up some chicken wings today, but even on sale they were over $13 for a package....A PACKAGE OF BONES!!! Boy, do I miss the days of wings on sale for $0.79/lb. Don't think we'll see that again.
On another note, however, I was blessed with a REQUEST for tacos for supper. I don't think Dane has made a 'special request' in over a year. He must have been really, REALLY hungry for them.

I remember when whole chicken was like .39 pound.

I got them a while ago ,when they where on sale. $1.79lb. You would think corned beef would be on sale.Not so.$5.lb.However cabbage is .39c lb hahaha.I will buy loads of that.Stuffed,rolled,fried, grilled.

We had Cod fish pan cooked with tomatoes diced..
Spinach and rice plain with just a pat of butter.
Rice Krispy treats for dessert.

Cod...had that when we went out to eat. It's always one of my favorite fish dishes. The last time I bought it at the store it was advertised as 'fresh' (never frozen) but it was about as far from 'fresh' tasting as I've ever had. So, now I just get it when we go out to eat.
I just had a Dove Ice Cream bar for dessert. Did anyone know there is a cute little saying printed on the stick like there is on the inside of the Dove foil wrapper on the single pieces of candy?
My stick says, "Your moment has arrived."
Don't have a clue what that could mean.....

Beth... I remember the Dixi Cup Ice cream had the paper top with the pull tab. Lift it up, and there was a picture of a cowboy like Gene Autry or Roy Rogers.... etc. It came with a wooden spoon too!.
They sold them individually at the corner stores, and the wooden spoon was just handed out loose and un-packaged.

Thank you Jimmy, and he makes sure to say that ( that he was happy that I'm home) so many times, maybe to make me feel guilty to leave him for quite a long time, I stayed longer than my schedule, I had to reschedule my flight back and stayed for another 10 days

Thank you Beth, it's good to be home again, though I really enjoyed spending time with my big family, but this is my home now, ssst don't let Dirk read this
you are right, my house looks clean, the floor and carpet are clean, vacuumed and mopped, but my counters are messy, I almost could not see my counters, they were full of stuffs, plates, containers, mugs and jars, I let them sit there for a couple of days more, then started to clean up, rewashed everything and put them away in my cabinets, my guest bedroom was messy too, the bed was full of cleaned laundry, he did not bother to fold them after he washed them
and he gained weight, maybe the junk foods he ate while I was gone
 now he started to watch what he eats 
because of that, today I cooked some oat bran cereal for his breakfast and tried to put more veggies in my cooking, I cooked some beef feet with bunch of potatoes, carrots and lots of napa cabbage, I added some fried shallots, nutmeg, cloves and black pepper

I just love how some husbands think when it comes to the kitchen. I had a bad case of the flu once and when I was finally able to crawl out of bed and go into the kitchen, I found a sink full of dirty dishes. I asked him about it and he said he was waiting for me to get better so I could do them. Ain't love grand?

The younger people, like my daughter for instance....said..."Mom, why do you fold all these towels in the bathroom closet?" "I just leave them in a basket, and pull them out as I need them!" ... "They only get munched up anyway!"
I hate dishes left in the sink. Last night I put them all in the washer, and washed them. When dry, I put them all away where they belong.

I don't like leaving dirty dishes in the sink overnight either. I feel like I am walking into a swamp the next day. I hate touching the dishes.

Boy, that looks really tasty, Barb.
Dane wanted (NOT my idea) KFC....for whatever reason. So, instead of having the leftover jambalaya I had planned, I went to get some chicken for him. I took Jimmy's advice and had an order of chicken nuggets ~ real chicken, nice and crispy. Good call, Jimmy!
Tomorrow will be leftover jambalaya....I refuse to toss it.

Gosh that sounds good. Iay get some. Only thing is I took out some shrimp and made cole slaw with the ton of cabbage I bought .25c lb ha....
Going to take back this pocrap laptop. It is worse now. They did nothing to fix the issues! Then to lowes . Marshals .other places . I might to tired to cook anything lol

Mommy got a rotisserie chicken breast... Again!!... She is in a pissy mood because she doesn't feel well.
She is making the Pickled sweet and sour eggs in red beats and juice for St. Patty's Day we will celebrate sunday. ( The Meal anyway ). The kids are coming over. I will cook 5 (yes five ) corned beef on the stove top, and one in the oven transformed into pastrami.
I'm gonna heat up the last of the pea soup, and have that with a fresh bagel from the bagel shoppe.

I find dirty dishes in the sink every morning. I put them in the dishwasher and find more in the sink later. At least they clean up after dinner when I cook.

The pea soup was very light, and tasty. I ate a little too much bagel with butter, but what the heck...it filled me up.
It's almost 12 midnight here, and it's time for me to clean up the sh---tuff all strewn about. The dish towel is knotted in a ball on the oven bar. There is a medium pot in the sink filled with water. ???
Oh! I forgot...soaking it is the excuse. Tina's Tea Cup and spoon is on the counter, close to the sink, and with 1/3 cup of stain making tea so that it is harder to scrub.
At least the kitchen scrubby is not floating in the soaking pot.
You want to see someone ( I won't mention names ) really get fired up? I just walk around or turn my head, and L00K at each and every misplaced or item that is just not my idea of a cleaned up kitchen!... While spot looking, I just softly say, "huh". .... Then I get..."If It Bothers You...Clean it or put it away!!!!" I say, "What? " I didn't say anything!...."Did I say a thing?"

I have way too much junk in my kitchen so I always looks kind of crowded. I have 5 tool crocks full of tools. Under my freestanding butcher block is a shelf that is completely filled. I have 2 rectangular baskets. One is full of cutting boards and the other has chips. Three of the crocks fill up the remaining space. There are also 3 small drawers that hold things. On the counter is a large toaster oven, a small TV, a mixer, a tool crock, a large tray full of Roomie's wine glasses, wine opener and tea making stuff. There is always a pan of something sweet to eat. I also have a small sprayer of 409 and kitchen counter spray and a bottle of Dawn. I don't know how to pare down the stuff because I use it all. I have a pot rack AND a pot stand, a record player. Way too much but it is all used. A walk-in pantry would help but not by much. Sometimes I feel so crowded I want to scream.

My kitchen !!!! Hate it. I would be so happy to have a pantry large counter space. I can wait to move from here. I will be thrilled! I do not want to waste any more of my life living here.
