I had a English Muffin.... Tina was at the church wrapping gifts for the unfortunate children and family's.... So it was just me, and Gabe.
He is easy to please. Cheerio's and his banana and coffee.

I buy braunschwieger about every 2 months or so. Love it with Miracle Whip, lots of onion, some yellow mustard and iceburg lettuce on white bread or potato bread.

Every once in a while, when I haven't picked it up, we will go to the Jewish Deli in town and Dane will say something about ordering a liverwurst sandwich....it's over $6! I usually talk him out of it with the promise of picking some up at the store the next day. What a cheapie I am!

At that deli, you would only get beef liverwurst....
I've never had beef liverwurst; it must be good?

No, we treat it just like any other prepared luncheon meat - since it's already cooked in the way it's made.

It comes in a heavy plastic casing that gets peeled away.

I woke up hungry ~ big surprise there, huh? LOL

I looked in the refrigerator and didn't see anything appetizing but the leftover brats with onions & pepper. I figured Mr. Amazing would NOT be happy to smell me reheating that before he had his cup of coffee. So I opened the pantry and saw the box of 'instant' pancake/waffle mix.

Good to go. Plugged in the waffle iron, mixed some water and a splash of vanilla into the dry mix and added some chopped pecans from the jar I keep in the freezer......pecan waffle for my breakfast!

My mouth was all set for a lunch of leftover brats with peppers & onions.

Then, when I turned around, Mr. Amazing was sitting at the table with both leftover brats on bread.

Darn.

So, I rummaged around in the refrigerator and saw the potato skins I had wrapped up when I baked the potatoes for my pierogi filling ~ perfect, I thought.

Until I went looking for the peppers & onions to reheat in the skins......they had been in a zip bag with the brats. Hmmmm, not on the shelf in the refrigerator, not in the drawer.

So, I asked Mr. Amazing what had he done with my peppers & onions ???

And he answered, "I THREW THEM AWAY !!!" Aaaaarrrrrgggghhhh!

So there I was, checking the trash for my treasure. Who else has to sort through the trash can for their lunch??? Luckily for me, he had rezipped the bag after he removed the brats and then tossed it.

My lunch of reheated potato skins with peppers & onions and a big dollop of sour cream was just the ticket!

I wanted to make pancakes this morning for everyone. Rats!!!...no box mix.

SOoooo! I went on line... all the b/s ones with separate the eggs, and stuff...I closed them out as fast as I opened them.
Found a Martha Stewart one. Simple... Doughy and no flavor at all. They were the kind you could throw at the wall, and they would stick!
Should have made my yeast raised batter, but it was a spur of the moment, and not enough time to proof.

Tina wolfed hers down because at 12 today, she had a baby shower to go to.
Geesh! I hate when she goes to baby showers. She comes home wishing SHE was having a BABY again!.... huh!... She probably forgot how to make one!

Yeah, I don't get it, either.

Red peppers. Yellow peppers. Orange peppers. All OK with my system.

GREEN peppers ~ burps, stomach distress, ((gas-ewwww!))

I find it helps to lay on my side and let it all pass, so to speak. Sorry for your distress (but glad it's YOU and not ME).

Tina loves the flavor of the green peppers, but then she pulls them out of whatever food has them in. She cannot eat them either.
I love the green ones, but they sometimes repeat on me.
One thing we found out, is those frozen mixed color peppers in the bag, do not repeat or gas us. Maybe it is the freezing that simmers down the gas??
They are great to have around. They are frozen with ice coating around them.

Years ago...50's 60's... the red, yellow, orange, peppers grown on farms, were usually knifed into the ground, because no one bought them. They were considered Miss Fit Peppers.

Today, I made eggs over medium for GD, and I had a fried egg, cheese and bacon on one of the home made English Muffins toasted and buttered with whipped butter! .... What a great enjoyment! Gabe has his usual, Cherrios with soy milk and a small banana cut up.

Barb, When I get gassed up (and down ) I take a phazyme or one Equate (a wallgreens store brand ).... It works within 1/2 Hr.

Another trick told to me by a German Dr. that used to treat my brother, was that he said, "Americans 40 or older, do not eat enough enzymes. Every meal should include enzymes to help digestion, such as grapes or apples and pears. They contain pectins to help digest gassy foods. Well, we eat very little fruit!
If I had my choice of a buttered roll or an apple, Guess which I would choose? LOL

Tina buys us Papaya Enzymes 600 ct. at GNC store. They are tasty and chewable. I take 4 or 5 before or after a meal. It really works for both of us.
