Hello my friends! Happy to see you're still here and I haven't read all posts yet to check but it appears all is well with you.  Wish I could say the same.  This last month especially has been trying.  My baby sister was diagnosed with advanced stage colon cancer and will begin chemotherapy treatments sometime in the next 10 days.  She's only 51 and has been such a shock for us to deal with.  IF the chemo works on shrinking the tumor (50/50 chance), her chances for survival go up to 80%.  If not, we're looking at 18-24 months survival.  That kills me.  We are very close.

With all that, at the same time, we had decided to finally fix my parent's house to get it ready for sale and have convinced my Mom to put my Dad (who has advanced Alzheimer's) in a care facility.  I spent a week ripping out old carpet and just feel like my plate is beyond full.

So, between my health problems, working 2 jobs, all the family health problems...I've had my hands full.  I think of you guys often and can't believe it's been 6 months since I signed on...

Hope to be able to catch up soon!  Just wanted you to know I still care!

I've thought of you often, Lisa, wondering how things were going with you.

We'd love to have you back to get caught up but understand how life can get in the way. Stop by when you can and know we've all missed you.

There is great hope for your sister. My sister was also diagnosed with advanced colon cancer. She had radiation, chemo and surgery. One year later it came back in her liver. Fortunately it was only one tumor so she was able to have part of her liver removed. She the underwent more chemo. She had her cancer gene typed which determines the most effective chemo for the disease. This is what the side effects were for her. She was tired. No nausea, no hair loss. She had some chemo-brain. She developed some neuropathy in her feet. She also got cataracts which were successfully removed with little discomfort or inconvenience. It has now been over 7 years with no other spread. We consider her cured. She went to The City of Hope for her treatment. Excellent care and treatment. Good luck and God bless your sister.

Hi, Lisa. I've been thinking about you lately. We were in LA for a few weeks and were going to see if you wanted to meet us in between LA and SD. As you can tell, we didn't have a chance to call.

I hope things go well for your sister. I know this has to be stressful for everybody but please know we are all here for you.

Hugs, my friend.

I've missed you, too, Lisa. Am sorry to hear about your sister's cancer but please know she (and you) will be added to my prayers.
