A little toast was on the plate for breakfast today!
Tina had Chef Boyardee macaroni from the can. What can I say?
She likes them. It's a when she was a kid thing! Smile

We all have those 'when I was a kid' thing that we love to eat.....but I sure didn't grow up eating that. My kids, however, LOVED Spaghettio's ~ Bleeeeeeccchhhh!

But when they're toddlers and refuse to eat just about anything you feed 'em what they WILL eat and move on with your day. LOL

Beth, I loved Spaghetti-O's when I was small..

Funny thing is, I tried it about 4 years ago--- took one tiny taste and down the garbage disposal it went....

This morning, breakfast was unusual.
Tina made fried shredded cabbage with onions, and then mixed into elbow macaroni's.
It was good; and different.

Here it is Saturday, ( well, every day is a saturday for us now ), and I had a nice Pork Roll Egg and Cheese.....on a new Plain Thomas' Nooks & Crannies Bagel.
I like the bagel style. Great, and nice and light in texture.

Tina was picking on the last bit of the Pecan Pie.

I saw the tiny remainder of the roast chicken breast in the refrigerator and decided to make a simple chicken sandwich for my lunch.....been a long time since I've had a sandwich on WHITE bread! Went all the way ~ WHITE bread, Miracle Whip, sliced chicken breast, wall-to-wall Wickles sweet hot pickles and iceburg lettuce. Then, as long as I was at it, a pile of Cheetos to finish me off!

I only see 1/2 a sandwich. That's not many calories! Very Happy

I had breakfast today; of scrambled eggs (2) and cheese. 2 slices of buttered toast.
Coffee to wash it down.

Tina was at the church ( again ) wrapping presents for the poor kids.

People say to her,"Hey Christine, how come you dedicate so much time to the Giving tree?"
She says, "Because I WAS one of those kids!"

She's a blessing, Jimmy ~ of course, you know that!

She is indeed. It's so nice that Tina really KNOWS how much her help means to those kids that she helps.

It's so nice that so many groups help out kids with presents. Brian and I donate to our local food bank, Second Harvest Food Bank, which is the largest charitable anti-hunger network in South Louisiana. They do a world of good all year long, too. Hopefully, little tummies get full during the holidays while enjoying their presents. It's truly sad when you read how many people go hungry in this country (not to mention worldwide). Breaks the heart of even the coldest person...

I had my nails done and got a pedicure yesterday and gave the man who does my nails his Christmas check. Like most years, he gave me two small loaves of banana bread ("so you and Brian won't fight over it!") that his wife made. It's the best either of us has ever had. She puts dried cranberries in it, too.

With my coffee in bed this morning, Brian brought me a good size piece of banana bread that he browned and heated up in a buttered pan on the stove this morning. Absolutely delicious and a nice filling breakfast, too.

I decided to go out with the old....an old favorite, that is.

On this last day of 2016 I made some of my German potato pancakes for my breakfast.  (whoops! forgot to take a pic because I was munching as I was continuing to fry.....)

I've been thinking of making them but since Mr. Amazing wouldn't like them I decided to make them just for me while he was out golfing this morning.  Pretty clever, huh?

Now I just have to air out the house before he gets back ~ why is it the smell of frying foods just hangs in the air forever???

LOL

(OK, so I felt guilty for not posting a pic ~ went back through my Photobucket and this was the first one I found:)

Mmmm! Beth, I smell them all the way up here! LOL
When growin up, cooking would be judged, by how good the house smelled after cooking something. Like last night, I steamed two heads of cauliflower, and boiled a dozen eggs to make deviled eggs and egg salad. Son and DIL ,stopped in after shopping, and they said the house smells like a HUGE Fart!!!..... December 2016 / Breakfast / Brunch / Lunch ? 2876911673
To top off the vapors, I've got smoked kielbasi boiling in the pot, and later, Tina will braise the fresh ring of kielbasi with tons of onions!

Now!....Onions..... That's rotten Arm Pits!!

Onions are my favorite cooking fragrance......sounds better than 'cooking ODOR', huh?

Seriously, I love the smell of the kitchen when I have onions in the pot!

We do, too, Beth. Add garlic, and it's the best of the best!
