Well aren't you just the lucky mom! What a nice thing for him to do.

I don't have my Keurig plugged in except when we have company now. I'm back to drinking more than 1/2 a pot of coffee....but I still like the machine when I get it going.

well not sure I like it.. yet..

when I make my coffee in my brew central.I put in 2 heaping scoops of coffee in a v paper filter.Pour in 40oz of filtered water.push on. 4 or so minutes I have 2 HUGE mugs of HOT coffee.

this one , I put in 2scoops coffee in the basket(no filter)with almost 2c water(14oz)hit brew.coffee goes in my cup, not even to the top,3/4 way up.
so now I have less coffee in my cup. and I have to go in the kitchen & pour grounds in the basket, pour in water.when with my old one I just poured in my coffee into my mug..

so it may take a while to figure out why I am to like this one cup thing.. scratch

well, as usual with us moms ~ it's the thought that counts!

I mean, at least it's better than a painted, dried clay ashtray!

LOL

this thing makes great tea.. cheers

I want a full huge mug of coffee not a half cup.

But I can now have iced tea on demand & no tea kettle boiling dry or standing there 5minutes to remove tea bag.yup I am lazy lol.
with this, I put the tea bag or loose tea in the pod basket, pour in 2 cups water.it flows right in the 2cup cup. instant tea..yes..

great on your gift! I have gotten used to my keuring. it is so much easier for a single person. I only drink one cup in the morning and tea maybe once during the day.
You have to play around to find the blend/brew you like. I find I have to get the bolder ones for it. I also have the refillable cup. I found it to be really hard to get all the grinds out and to clean it. Shocked
So, I got lazy. I now buy the k-cups. Pricey but so easy to pop one in, and out bom
Barb, can't you just keep the tank filled and on for the second cup--it should be fast...

Ceee

I love my Keurig. I started out using the k-cups that came with it, and then I switched to using the refillable cup. I hated that thing. It was harder to clean than the basket of a regular drip coffee maker and often left coffee grounds in the bottom of the cup. Now I just buy the k-cups and tell myself it's just one little splurge.

I don't see me buying those one cup things.I looked at them the other day $10.50 for 4oz of coffee affraid some where a little cheaper maybe $8 & 9ish.
I buy reg bagged bOGO. makes the 11.12oz bag around $3.

when New England has a get rid of this coffee for $3 a bag I buy 10 to 15 bags lol.

This thing does make great tea tho.

I also found that it takes 2 heaping scoops to make a large mug not full.12/14oz

when the same 2 scoops make a 8/10 cups in my brew central with 40oz of water. 2 huge mugs.

Barb, I found them pretty expensive, too. The last firm I worked for, the woman in charge got one. Since I did just about everything there, I also ordered the supplies. I told her about how much more expensive the coffee was -- and since she wanted everything delivered, I ordered our Community Coffee and Chicory online, about $6./lb. -- but if something was her idea, she didn't care. The other partner didn't drink coffee but only tea -- Eric said that after people made coffee in the Keurig and then he made tea, he could taste the coffee flavor so he stopped using it.

Brian and I drink about two to three cups each morning -- big cups like you, probably 12-14 oz. each -- and I make what the coffee pot calls 8 cups -- but it must be tiny cups. On weekends, we make what the coffee pot calls 10 cups so we can each have an extra cup. We're like you, as we want a big cup of cofee. Plus we make it really strong, too. I used to buy the strongest Keurig k-cups that I could find for work, but they were never strong enough for me.
