You cook them the way I like them....not falling off the bone, but with some 'bite' left. Yum.

Everybody's meals always look so much better than mine. Maybe 'cause someone else cooked them. Roomie and DH went to a birthday party. I am staying home 'cause I woke up sick in the middle of the night with a stomach upset. I am really not hungry yet.

Question: Does anyone know how to block some emails? I just got a porno one and I want stop that fast.

The Chinese takeout went well. We sang Happy Birthday to GD, and had a Carvel Ice Cream cake. It was all good!

When my son was a teen, he worked at a restaurant where the Christmas party required everyone to bring pot luck. A restaurant that didn't want to cook for the employees. And the Christmas bonus was a lottery ticket. The owner said if anyone won anything, they'd have to share it with him.

Found an amazing Elk steak in the grocery store a few days ago, did it in my grill pan to a nice med. rare. I topped it with Steak spice from The Keg, sauteed some onions and portobello mushroom, baked potato (well microwaved that).

Doing it on the firepit on the farm would have been perfect, but that's not happening any more, so second best was great too!

Today I'm going to my sister's place for turkey. I am contributing a salad. I bought a spiral slicer a few weeks ago, so I will use that today to make it look like fun!

I have a problem thinking of vegetables to use in the thing. I know I can use carrots, zuch, cukes, yellow squash, potatoes, and I go blank after that.

Sounds good Lore! .... We bought DD a spiral cutter / slicer that attaches to her KA stand mixer. She didn't try it yet.

Cantaloupe?? Water melon??  Sweet potatoes??  Bologna ???hahahhaah

Yeah! Buy a hunk of bologna or your favorite lunch meats, like roast beef, and go spiral. Can you imagine.

" I'll have a curly bologna and curly cheese on a twisted roll thank you!"

Imelda, your soup looks like a big pot of "Lucky" for the New Year!

Love that you made quiche in a pan originally intended for corn bread. Great idea!

I had some large radishes, instead of curling they were a really nice crescent moon shape. I just finished making a salad to take to my sis's place, I spiralled a large cooked beet, half of a very large, thick carrot, half a cucumber, tossed it all with half a head of iceberg lettuce, and about a half bunch of watercress. I will make a simple dressing with EVOO, balsamic reduction and some herbs.

Jimmy, you crack me up. Spiralized boloney (bologna). Prolly look like earth worms on a bun. You might be able to do it to a tube of pepperoni and put it on a pizza.

Didn't have a real plan for supper. I had a chicken breast and then saw some lemons my sister-in-law brought the last time she visited.....chicken picatta. I knew 'he' wouldn't like it if I made noodles after the carb heavy meals the last couple days so I picked out a sweet potato to split. Gotta say, it didn't really go all that well with the lemony chicken.....but it wasn't terrible, just a bit odd. The roasted cauliflower was excellent, however. Should have just eliminated the potato altogether.
