Chocolate question

I have a recipe that uses semi sweet chocolate and dark chocolate. What do you think it is? Bittersweet? I hate it when recipes are vague.

I think,,, semi sweet has sugar. dark does not,you have to add sugar.I could eat semi sweet chips,but no way can I eat dark. So IDK lol.

Usually chocolate without sugar is called unsweetened chocolate.

The darker the chocolate, the less sugar.
