Ads I don't like.....

I have the TV on, as usual, and they just ran that new ASPCA ad with Patti Page singing, How Much Is That Doggie In The Window....

Then they go on to show the puppy mills, etc.  

I know they need donations to stop animal abuse but their ads just make me ill.  I just can't stand to watch.  And then I try to look away and Goofy Huckleberry gives me one of his looks with his big, sad brown eyes....I just want to smack him with a rolled up newspaper....

NO, JUST KIDDING !!  He is terrified of paper, any paper.  Big wimpy dog.  

Are there any ads on TV that just rub you the wrong way?

cat food,dog food all of it is crap.

so many car ones now,I do not pay any attention.

Sears has some funny ones yet I have not shopped in sears in years & do not plan on it.
Do not the Wal Mart or Kmart ones.

Publix I like.

There is another ad for Clorox wipes that just gags me....with the nasty stuff on the counter top or furniture. The first time I saw the woman pick up a sponge and it turned into a raw chicken she proceeded to use to wipe down her countertop and refrigerator, well....I almost lost it. Anything showing graphic germy stuff gives me goose bumps and worse.

 

oh & the one with the guy trying to sell wal mart steaks in a steak house restaurant. Come on..

I find the ad for the show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo deeply troubling. The concept for the show is sickening.

I guess I just don't understand the entire reality show idea. I mean, didn't these people learn anything from that Jon & Kate 8 thing? It's like living The Jerry Springer Show for 30 minutes every week. It's one thing to have adults making fools and idiots of themselves, but to involve children is troubling.

Pepsi Next.. how the parents are so excited with it, the Mom videotaped it while her baby dancing and clowning around.. stupid ads

There is an ad running right now that I do think is funny....the Swiffer ad with the elderly couple.

Morty has a line in one of the ads that just breaks me up because I think it is SO true of many men of that generation (which is a few years older than Mr. amazing and me....).

He says something about how he doesn't clean, he MAKES dirt !

   


And there goes his wife, climbing up on a dining room chair to dust the chandelier...

When the one came out where they said 'you can tell your baby is growing up by....'  my husband went off the deep end.   He wrote the company and asked why they were doing commercials about skidmarks.  They gave a canned response, but we've recently notice that they  have lots more of them, and they're all different, and all about skidmarks.

The one that irked me was a Mexican fast food chain (can't remember which one) had a commercial where they were repeating 'ca ca ca...' and I don't remember the rest.  All I heard was 'caca' and if you've ever had a kid, you know what I mean.  I wrote to the company and asked why I'd want to buy food that was 'caca'.  They  never responded, but interestingly, a few days later, the commercial was gone.

I zone out of most of them and DH will say 'did you see that!'.  I always ask WHAT? because I might have been staring at the TV but didn't see anything that was just on.

Those are actually funny. Somehow I don't think they were scripted. I think that's how their life is. I crack up every time I see them, though.

The ones that kill me are the ones that show real life roaches.  I have to look away from the TV.  

Brian's latest favorite is the one with the camel walking thru the office asking people what day it is.  HUMP Day!  He laughs every single time it comes on and then does a great "HUMP Day" out loud, which makes me laugh every time.  

I like the recent ad that's been coming on for Shark Week -- the one where the shark jumps out of the water and eats "Snuffy" the seal being returned to the sea, all the little kids are crying and the "anchorman" says, "Holy BLEEP."  Makes me howl every time.

HUMP DAY! I'm shaking with laughter! What an irritation to have a camel walk through the office bugging everyone.....hahahahahahaha!

And, yes, when you watch as the sling is being lowered with that little seal....and then the next shot shows the sling flapping in the wind.....too funny.

Brian can't watch that one without howling, Beth!  He always says, in a very sing-song child's voice, "Snnuffffieeeeee" when the ad comes on for Shark Week.  Even when I'm in the next room, I still laugh when I hear him (his objective, of course, is to make me, his best audience, laugh)!
