Busy today

By the time dinner rolls around I will not want to grill the chicken I took out.

I vacuumed & that may not be a big deal to anyone else but to me it is. I had to sit down 4 times to relieve my back.Then I had to keep moving Maggie away from the machine. She loves the thing..Weird..I like the no bag, but the trips to the trash can to dump 10 times is tiresome.

Cleaned the bathroom.Maggie trying to get in tub with the water..  

Cleaned 'their' bathroom.Bleach ..Then when dry .both of them 'went' After being outside for 30 minutes.  

Flipped the mattress OMG thought I would have call ems..Ghezz   I won't be doing that again.

Shampooed part of the carpet.Rest can wait till maybe Sunday.

Windows opened letting the stink out.Dusted everything Ceiling fans too ..Yikes.

De dog haired the sofa   

ya I am done for it..  Dinner???

that's what I should do today.. cleaning, vacuuming, dusting but instead of doing those, I sat on my couch watching the cooking shows for hours, I saw Martha making a pan of beautiful Parker House rolls.. Cook Country cooked a pot of delicious beef stew and beautiful herb crust salmon.... and I promised myself that I'm going to really clean up my house tomorrow, but we'll see, I still have a week until my in laws' visit  

I cleaned the house real well on Wed. You would never know it today.  

 

I have been hunting and hunting for a new pair of glasses. I have a small face and most frames are too large on me. I look like a sewer rat in them. To add insult to injury is the cost. I have had estimates as high as $900. I have really bad vision and need high index progressives which translates into thin bifocals only they are no where near thin. They still look like coke bottle bottoms. I don't have the energy to search far and wide for frames so every time I am in the mall I check out Lenscrafters to see if they have any new frames that have come in. Today I found a pair of Ralph Lauren children's frames that will work. I go in tomorrow for an exam. I can't wait to find out how much they cost.

My eyes are a wonder of nature ~ at least that's what my eye doc says.

My right eye focus' on what I want to read (newspaper, books, etc.), my left eye focus' on stuff further away (computer screen, stove, etc.) and I only need eyeglasses for driving, and not always. just if I have to see signs in the distance. If it's close to home and I know where I'm going, no glasses are needed, although, for the most part I keep my regular & sun glasses in my car and put them on to drive....just in case.

Barb - you're not the only one who gets exhausted vacuuming.....I can do the hard surfaces just fine but the carpet makes me ache like crazy. That's why Dane did all the carpet for me today. I did some laundry and changed the bed so I was glad to sit for 2+ hours in the car to drive to the beach.

I don't buy expensive frames but I have no choice but to buy expensive lenses. Walmart's price for my lenses were over $500. I have tried on those glasses than you can adjust but they only come in one style-round and they look hideous on me. I looked like someone from a futuristic sci-fi movie. Tried Costco but they can't make my lenses and they have no frames that will fit my prescription. The frames I picked are a bit Clark Kentish but they can fit the progressive lense. My vision is a minus 8.5 with astigmatism. Without glasses I am legally blind. I need glasses to find my glasses. There is a stray gene that is floating around the family. A cousin of mine on my father's side had the same vision.

Bugster, I have the same problem with glasses. I have a very small bridge on the nose and they are impossible to find!
I finally found an optician who carries the "Diva" line by Eastern States---had to take glasses off for company.
They are designed and manufactured to fit petite faces!!
They are great!
I also have the same problem with my prescription.
I have ultra thin, bifocals, protective coating, scratch resistant, and transitions (sunglass) tint....
All in all, my last pair--bought in January was $854! :afraid: 

These are the only line which fits perfectly!!
and are very stylish and not bad on the price for the frame.
It is the prescription lenses which are the killer!

Hopefully you can find them in your area...

I looked at their catalog but unfortunately they are not small enough. I wear a size 46. I usually have to look at children's frames. The problem with those is that most of them are too small and I can't use them for progressives. It is nice to see that I am not alone when I see how much you have to pay for your glasses. When I tell people how much they cost they look at me like I am crazy and that I paid way too much. Sure, I pay too much but it is like I don't have choice in the matter. I am not going to Oliver Peoples and spending $700 on a frame. It is the lenses that cost so much.

If I would get my shet together & have my cataract surgery I would not need glasses anymore.

I am starting to develop cataracts so if I live long enough to need surgery that will be an interesting experience to not need glasses.

I have always passed the eye exam for a drivers license even last year. It always shocks me that I pass because I have chosen to wear glasses for driving (and art work) for 25 or 30 years.  I definitely have needed glasses for reading for at least half or longer than that.  Strictly for driving in the day time, I had specially made prescription sunglasses with polarized lenses made to fit my heavy duty Ray-Ban frames in the 80's and have not needed a new prescription (or frames) since them.
