Me too!!! Barbara, perhaps you know about this little local dish??? Charleston Red Rice, also known as "Savannah Red Rice" is a rice dish commonly found along the Southeastern coast of the United States. It was developed by the Geechie/Gullah, who reside in the region. It is relatively simple and usually consists of plain white rice boiled with crushed tomatoes, hot sauce, and small bits of smoked pork sausage. Occasionally finely diced onions or bell peppers may be added.

Now what TV personality used to say "geechie, geechie". LOL

I wanted to get a couple of those grass baskets....but considering the $$$, I decided I would be better off growing the grass and learning how to weave them myself. They are beautiful but very expensive to buy.
