I hate when MSN has a blurb about how prices are going to increase....Here's what they predict will be going up in price this fall:

1) Bacon  (supply & demand)
2) Eggs  (avian bird flu)
3) Butter - don't remember why
4) Beef  (already too expensive for me)
5) Chicken (see: eggs)
6) Vegetables (draught in California)
7) Soup (don't know WTH this is about.....I make my own)
8.) Chocolate  (because the polsters are just plain mean.....)

Eggs..I just bought 4 doz@$1.87 a doz..

I still have .99clb whole chickens in the freezer. Last time I bought a whole roaster for $2.97lb could not even tell the difference.

I am buying just for me so I get beef on sale. and pork too.Oh just bought 4-1'lb packages of bacon on bogo sale.

I buy butter when it is 2 for $4.

I always stock up on coffee too.Bogo.

Guess it just boils down to what you eat and cook.

What gets me is the price of fish/seafood.

Out here 18 eggs cost over $5. A pound of butter is over $4. I buy my butter at Costco. It is the cheapest, but not the best tasting around.

Vegetables (fresh) have increased a lot here in Canada. With our $$$ being so low, it is really noticeable because most veggies are imported in winter. However, I am eating/shopping for myself so it's not really a big deal. I know it's tough on young families.

I was in the mood for asparagus but it was $5/lb. I will have to wait till the price drops.
