I got something I did not want and can't do a thing about it. Sometimes people just don't listen when you say no. For months and months Roomie and DH kept telling me that I should learn how to play the guitar. I kept saying NAY, NAY! I know my limitations. I have never been able to learn how to type or anything else that requires the use of two hands, each doing something different from the other. I am extremely uncoordinated. Always the last person chosen for a team in school because I can't do anything that requires physical coordination. This has led to a life-long loathing of anything sports or game related. Anyway they kept telling me I should learn how to play the guitar with me protesting loudly against the idea. Guess what? They got me a guitar for Christmas, a tuner, a stand and a songbook. Double $HIT!! I don't mean to sound ungrateful but $HIT! I don't want the thing! Now I have to put out the effort to try and teach myself how to play. Lessons are out of the question while DH is unemployed. $hit!!!

You could always use it to swat flies....

((just kidding))

Heck, it might be something to occupy your time and may even give you some enjoyment if you give it a chance. If not, just close the door, turn on the TV, and strum it every once in a while so they think you're practicing.

It's the thought that counts. (I know, dumb saying ~ who cares???)

I know, I know. I will give it a try and see what happens. I wish they had given me a new vacuum cleaner. I need one of those. LOL! Roomie plays the piano, flute, sax, violin and maybe more so she thinks anyone can learn how to play. I am not hard-wired for the task plus I sing in the key of Z. She and my DH went in together and bought her a new digital piano since she had to sell her upright because we had no room for it. Guess what? We don't have room for the digital either so it is now in the living room. One has to side-step to navigate around it. I can't stand feeling crowded with things.

Hey Bugs! .... Maybe you can trade in the guitar for like...uh...uh,,, a Harmonica.
That's it! A Harmonica is great to play and fool around with. Dale Evans played the harmonica in a movie once... and Roy answered her with the guitar. It was like love music between them.
As a matter of fact, I have a Harmonica. I just remembered!! Geeze! I gotta go look for that thing! Hmmmm!!!

Tina always wanted to play the Violin. No $$ and being Poor, the only thing she got for Christmas from the Salvation Army ( God Bless Them ) was a new rag doll and a coat and new boots.
They never passed out violins or even trumpets as a matter of fact.

Son Jimmy just decided about a few months ago, that he wanted to take up playing the guitar.
He is all set up in the old GD's room. He is furnishing it now, and I think he bought an electric guitar and amplifier. He is in the beginning stages; so he doesn't mention how he is progressing so far.
He is self studying. Yeah! Uh Hu!! Like last year we got him $100.00 worth of "Learn Fluent Italian" dvd's and study at home kits! SOOoooo! Let's see.. Learn Italian, or Watch Sports on the 350 channel Satellite system?? Guess which one he studies? One Guess, and it's not the Italian!! hahahahaha

Although I also got a book that teaches how to play some songs, I think I will look online for some free lessons. There are lots of schools that offer free classes, like MIT and Stanford, maybe there are some that offer free guitar lessons. I just read the first couple of pages from the book, instantly had a brain fart and promptly forgot what I had just read. I have absolutely no short term memory with some things, especially people's names and faces.
