I'm no JanaAZ....I don't make thousands of cookies for parties. But I have more than enough to share!

Here are the cut out cookies I made today. I still have some to decorate but the majority of this batch is done and taken care of.

Cookies and Cookies, and more Cookies!

DD the elected Baker for the holiday cookies really did a great job.
Notice Granddaughter how helpful she is texting on her smart phone, and could care less how the cookies are made. LOL

0]]here it is.. it's in my head Smile

- 2 sticks of butter ( I like the salted butter better than the unsalted one )
- 2 cups of flour
- 1 cup of sugar ( I reduced to 1/2 - 3/4 )
- vanilla
- chopped/crushed almond, walnut or pecan

Thanks, Imelda.

The recipe I have uses 1/2 c. Confectioners' Sugar. I'm thinking maybe granulated sugar might be better....

Well, I stuck with the confectioners' sugar...they came out fine.

So, I think this is the last of 'em:

Nut Tarts & Mexican Wedding Cake Cookies (prior to the powdered sugar shower)

Ah, no, Imelda.....I did NOT forget the cheese crackers. Since I don't like cheese they never made it on my list! LOL

We're invited to the neighbor's for a get together on Christmas Eve. I'm taking all the cookies and some plastic plates so everyone can make/take a plate home with them. That way I won't have cookies sitting around for me to eat for the next month!

I thought I was done. Then, at the grocery store I saw Baker's Coconut on sale for $2.....Coconut Macaroons will be my final holiday cookie.

That's it. No more. I must be crazy.

No, it's just been a long time since I've had an opportunity to make an assortment of cookies with the idea of giving them all away. It's been fun.

Jimmy - who eats all the cookies you have?

I'm taking a few of mine to Lyn's for Christmas dinner (now up to 8 of us...) but the rest will go to Christmas Eve with plates for everyone to divide up. I plan on bringing home empty platters and NO ONE gets out the door without a heaping plate of cookies! lol

Beth... Tina will give them to the neighbors; because we get from them. It's like a Cookie Trade Center here!!....
Then...we definitely eat our share.

The girls bake out of habit I say! ... Their answer when I ask,"Why are you making those particular cookies?" .... Oh! Uh!"Cuz We Have Them Every Year!!"....or "My Mother made them all the time!" etc. ...
