You used a stencil....and carved like an artist!
great job.

When the kids were small... Daddy me, helped the kids carve pumpkins.
We each had our own. I peeled and cooked mine...
Then I took the hole saws in the drill to drill eyes and little 3/4 inch holes for a mouth etc. Anything to make it easy.
The kids would cry because the mr. pumpkin had round eye's.

Later when the kids got bigger....they wouldn't let dad touch their pumpkins.
Goood! Wink

Jambalaya (my own 'special' version) and a buttered hard roll:

I brown the sliced smoked beef brats (Johnsonville) to remove the fat, then drain off the fat and cook the chicken in the pan. Onions, celery & a bit of jalapeno are softened, a bit of flour added to aid in the thickening of the sauce. Then a can of spicy Red Gold diced tomatoes w/peppers and some chicken stock and spicy Bloody Mary mix (or, Spicy V-8 if I have some open)is added to create the sauce. The sausage & chicken gets added back in to simmer and complete the cooking and melding of flavors. Just before serving the shrimp gets added because it only takes minutes to cook through.

I like to pack the rice into a buttered coffee mug to make it pretty on the plate....my sister-in-law thinks that's what makes it a 'company' meal ~ takes so little to impress some people! LOL

I made a "Jambota" in the big frying pan.
First, I fryied peppers cut then when at the soft outside crunch inside, I drained and set them aside.
Then Onions Johnsonville spicy hot brats cut in thick slices,,,and hot dogs the same. Fried all up, and drained the grease. Added a choppped tomato, and salted them, and covered and steamed them with the rest....Then I added the peppers to a space in the fry pan by itself.

I had the great tasting Jambota with three slices of white bread. Wonder Bread...

Tina made a pot of chicken soup (again)....and no feet this time.
The kids Jimmy and DIL will get some tomorrow which they could pick up on the way home from work! ( Yeah! Right)

Dessert will be left krispy kreme doughnuts.

Gabe is having chicken breast and mashed taters and french cut beans.
He just finished his cup cake, and ice cream.

It looks good Beth!
The rice mound is a cleaver idea! I haven't had rice in months!

Maybe tomorrow I will make a seafood gumbo???

I know what I am having for supper.
I took a nice beef barley that I had frozen. Soup! Umm!

I am Geriatric sitting today!... Tina went to the Pocono's to the casino to TRY and win some of those green things that DO NOT Grow on trees! ...
She went with the church group, and she took 100.00 with her that she had won last year, and had it stashed away in one of her secret places. hahahahahah

At least she will have a great time, and she is so deserving of a day to herself. She does so much, and is like the Machine that keeps all the gears running in this household! God Bless Her!

I guess so far, she is on the roll, or she is in the hole.....but either way...it's a fun time for her.

I don't play those casino games. I am NOT Lucky....Ever; Never!! LOL
I am the kind that would go fishing, catch the biggest winning shark, reel it in, and have it bite my A$$!

We're having leftovers.

HE is having broccoli/cauliflower soup.

I'm having the leftover jambalaya.

We have a meeting to go to at 7:00 pm so the sooner we eat, the sooner I can take a shower and be fresh and ready to go.

I am going to make mini pizzas out of GRANDS biscuits and use roomie's turkey pepperoni. YUCK! I prefer the greasy kind.
I am sitting here watching Food Paradise on TV. It is about burgers. They show White Castle burgers. The spokesman says the patties are 100% meat. Oh yeah? What kind of meat? The "meat" doesn't even look like meat. It looks like squares of pink slime. I'll pass.

bugs... the White castle Burgers we call "Weekend Burgers"... and that meant, eat a 10 pack....and make sure you are home and near the bathroom the next day!

We had a brand new WC burger joint here that previously was a Taco Bell.
It lasted a year and a half about, and G O N E ! .... We got a fast food alley that has a BK; a KFC ; a Wendy's; a MacDonalds: and there was no need for a White Castle! And now, there is a new Philadelphia Pretzel Factory. How many pretzels can one eat or wish for?? Maybe once a month as far as we are concerned!

The road leaving the area to the next town (all rural) has the Ruby Tuesday..the Applebees...Arby's... and a Pizza Hut!

The sick part, is the town and the Fast Food Alley pulls up the streets around
7:00PM.... Everyone is sitting in their favorite fart cushions; sucking on a beer, trying to erase all the BS that they went through during the day! LOL

what a great way to 're-purpose' a pot of chili. It's like it's a whole new meal.

Made a booboo a few minutes ago. I forgot that October is done, and posted there. I checked in here the last time Oct. 24, closing date on my farm. So, I am now officially a high rise condo resident. I will even have to get a bathing suit, for what's the sense in living where there is an indoor pool and not using it, right?

Had my sis and BIL here for dinner last night. Brother-in-law is from Trinidad, so guess what I cooked? Smoked pork chops with sauerkraut, mashed spuds. This Trinidadian likes German food!

There is no one checking boo boo's here Lore!
So pick up your slice of bread, and cup of water....and go sit in the cellar.
LOL....

Congratulations, Lore!

I know you must have been on pins & needles waiting for the official closing on the farm....I know I was anticipating the dropping of the 'other shoe' when we closed on this villa. But, in the end, all is well and now you can finally have that sigh of relief that it's all over.

Enjoy that condo (and the pool) when the snow is falling and you realize you don't have to find a shovel!

That must be a huge weight off your shoulders. You have had a great deal of stress this past year. Try and just relax now and let your mind and body rejuvenate.

Thanks. I didn't think that I was under stress, but do feel better now. Several people have asked me if I am sad about leaving after 39 years. Mostly no, because the last two years have been the sad part, seeing your partner of 50+ years deteriorate and then die. From now on it can be onward and upward.

I am taking an evening class in Floral Design, and am having fun. I don't plan to get a job in the industry, but maybe my new talents (hopefully) can be of use somewhere in a volunteer situation.

That's so cool, NV. I would enjoy that class as well as I love arranging flowers that I pick up at the grocery or, occasionally, the florist. Glad you're having fun and wish you the best!

Yes, the class is fun. We have to learn a lot of stuff. If you plan to work in the industry, you'd better learn to make a corsage in 10 minutes. Mine the other night took an hour, but the instructor said it was "magnificent" and wired so well that even the most enthusiastic mother of the bride who may have had a whole bottle of champagne wouldn't shake it apart!

My dinner tonight, a breaded and fried pork chop, some steamed cauliflower and broccoli!

The pork steaks were great tonight. I really do not eat that many potatoes, but the potatoes tonight were so tasty. I ate like 9 wedges.
Broccoli was a fresh one, and Tina cooked the heck out of it. She likes mushy veggies.

Cookies and peanut butter cupcakes for dessert too! OUffffff! So full now!

Tina bought cod fish yesterday.... I will have that, and Tina will probably have a little.
She isn't a fish eater.
She is making a the slow cooker, hot dogs with BBQ sauce. Onions Celery Worchestershire sauce, and ketchup and brown sugar, and a tad of vinegar!
They smell great!

Gabe won't eat them, so he will have a Salisbury steak frozen dinner. ( Hungry Man )

Yesterday my computer decided to subcumb to multiple virus issues....gad, how I hate that stuff.

Today I had to take it to my geek friend and, for $50 (which is a deal & a half as far as I'm concerned), he has me back up and running. He said I had a bunch of junk but he was able to successfully restore me.

Here's a pic of last night's country fried steak w/milk gravy.....

Looks great Beth!.... I haven't had lima's in ages.

Maybe because Tina doesn't like them. ? ?
