They look delicious Imelda. tina said good job, and now SHE wants them like that!

I made quick add water to mix pancakes for this morning after mass, and Tina wanted French toast, so I made them for her! She ate her French toast with just granulated sugar sprinkled on top!
I like butter and powdered sugar on mine....

Cleaning out the vegetable drawer.....onion, carrot, broccoli, cauliflower.

All simmering away for a take on Cream of Broccoli soup.  I added some diced ham I had in the freezer.  As soon as everything is tender I'll add the leftover cooked broccoli from the other night and make a cream sauce to bring it all together.

My father used to have his pancakes (after melting butter on top) with squeezed fresh lemon juice and granulated sugar on top. They're really good like this, Jimmy. Brian tried them when I told him and he liked them, too.

Tina makes what we call "Hankies" . YES!
Hankies....Why?? ... Because Tina's Mom would make banana crepes....and she had a square electric cast aluminum skillet.
When they came out square...The kids said,"Oh! Boy!...Just Like Hankies!"
Hence the words to describe them as... "Thin Thin Hankies"

She made them with banana's and flour; sugar and eggs. They were so good!
i ate them plain rolled up like a log!

Son Jimmy....with whipped butter, and sprinkled granulated sugar, and lemon juice on them, and folded them like a handkerchief, then ate them!

Tina and her mom...with Just Grape Jelly and rolled up! And Tina sometimes with just powdered sugar...

DD Maria, ( With pancake syrup ), and after that, she was jumping all over the darn house like the Duracell Bunny with the drum. Plus she would drink that Hawaiian Red Punch with it! What a snot nosed sticky a$$ed kid she was.
I could swear...she would push her face into whatever she ate.
She was the only kid I know that could eat spaghetti, and have it stuck in her ears!! LOL... God Bless Her!

Well.... Grandma passed on, and her electric frying pan had broken.

I just last year, found one on e-bay used of coarse, but in good condition.
It is the kind that is the heavy thick cast aluminum, and not with any non-stick coating. That skillet cooks so great, and food does Not Stick at all.
It was an appliance made for Western Auto Stores years ago...I guess late 50's early 60's!

Darn...I could go for those Hankies right now! ( Hello Tinaaaaa!)

Guess What???
Tina is making me Hankies! .....Ummmmmm!!!!

Here they are.....
"HANKIES" Banana Flavored....

Tina's with jam, and mine with powdered sugar, and plain!

Jimmy - those look just like the Sweedish pancakes my childhood friend's mother made us for breakfast when we had 'sleep-overs' at their house. Her's were round and she spread them with a thin jelly and rolled them up.

Tina always gets the crepes at IHOP with strawberries and whipped cream....

They normally dollop sour cream on top, and she asks them NO SOUR CREAM....and instead put whipped cream on top.
They just don't understand, and give her the sour cream AND the whipped cream on top! ..... She tells the waitress..."If it comes here with saour cream...I am sending it back!" ..... Do they listen?? ... NOOooo!

Cassie's two brothers, sister and a friend were here for breakfast, along with two toddlers. I made a Prairie Puff ( a lot like Martha S. Maine Pancake), with strawberries, blueberries, apple sautéed with brown sugar and cinnamon, blueberry syrup, maple syrup, raspberry syrup, bacon, sausage links and scrambled eggs with cheese, milk and hot sauce, coffee and orange juice.

Sounds good to me too Norm. Scrambled eggs with cheese is what Tina cooked me for breakfast today. They hit the spot! .... I like the yellow Land O Lakes cheese added to the eggs, but I told Tina,"Make sure they brown a little!" I like when the cheese just starts to brown. bounce

Wow! I'll bet their first thoughts were, "Boy, did we come on a good day!" Sounds delicious, Norm.

Dane fixed himself bacon & eggs this morning while I was putzing around. I didn't think I was hungry.

Did I mention, Dane fixed b * a * c * o * n ???

So, when my stomach was finally growling, I looked in the refrigerator for something to fix. I saw the leftover corn and thought, I haven't had corn fritters in ages. Easy and a childhood favorite.

Did you say...D' D' D' Dane cooked for himself ? ? ? cheers

See.... He could cook. That's worth a salute, and a Parade in the golf cart all around the Villages; and with Dane wearing a chefs hat while waving with a spatula in each hand; while You Drive and beat a drum! ... hahahahahahaah

Geeze, and we were Amazed that Uncle Gabe finally learned to get some little animal cookies when he needs a snack. Too bad he can't close the Zip Lock on the baggie. You'll be amazed at what he can do when "Slave Tina" isn't around. hahahahaha.... You think I'm Kidding?? .... The other day he complained that Tina mommy didn't stir the sugar in his coffee good enough! ..... Mad

ME.... Seargent Jimmy McDo It Yourself! Makes the coffee, and gives him the splenda and a spoon, and says..."Here ya go...Knock yourself out and don't wear out the spoon!" .....Enjoy!

Yes, Dane CAN cook for himself ~ he just prefers NOT to on a regular basis.....

I will say, when he cooks for himself he also cleans up after and puts his dishes in the dishwasher. I may spoil him once in a while but he knows there is a line in the sand, so to speak. LOL

I made a bowl of tuna salad for lunch today ~ not many would care for it....

Canned tuna, 3 hard cooked eggs, 2 stalks celery and Miracle Whip.

Dane's the type who opens a can of tuna, adds a blob of mayonaise and mixes it up. He had a difficult time getting use to "my" traditional tuna salad. But, when I was growing up, tuna had to be purchased and the eggs were free (chickens in the barnyard). So, Mom always added chopped eggs as an extender.

I would enjoy that tuna like that Beth.
I stretch the tuna with a can of skinless boneless sardines or mackeral sometimes.
Don't like the tuna canned in water though.

I'm not a salman man, but I will make canned salmon with mayo and celery and onions, just like tuna salad.

delicious lunch Barbara and Beth..

Beth.. did you cook the canned tuna for your tuna salad? I still can't eat canned fish or others ( like beans, veggies ) without cooking them first

I made these, baked grits with cheese and bacon bits.. Dirk loves grits, and he ate 7 pieces of them Shocked
