MSN says the #1 Fastest growing little city in the U.S. is.....

(drum roll, please....)

THE VILLAGES !!

Thank goodness they didn't add the part about the negatives we've seen in the national news as well.

Yes, they continue to buy more land and building more of the 'zero property line' homes.

But they seem to have their master plan in place and experience has shown it works. This place is not for everyone but it seems to be fine for us and the other 107,898 people living here. I would have thought it would be too congested for us to be happy (surrounded by so many people) but it really has a 'small town' feel to it and it's very easy to connect with people in your own neighborhood. Last night we got together with friends and just sat around talking and laughing ~ forgot all about supper, just had cheese & crackers & spreads and too many bottles of wine.

Olathe, a suburb of Kansas City, where I live isn't as nice looking and is much farther down the list:

In 2008, the US Census Bureau ranked Olathe the 24th fastest-growing city in the nation. The same year, CNN/Money and Money magazine ranked Olathe #11 on its list of the "100 Best Cities to Live in the United States."

New Orleans was named by Forbes as the fastest-growing city since the Recession. We're really getting a lot of professional younger people moving here since Katrina. People want to be in on the rebirth of a great city, thank God! Cool
