I thought that I posted all this, and then poof, it disappeared into cyberspace.
Yesterday I had potato salad, tomato/onion salad, some pikerel, some bass, some perch, a devilled egg, a couple of stuffed jalapinios, a sausage, some tzatsiki, some veggies and dip, I think a bun, some baked beans, a cinnamon bun, a brownie, and lots of both red and white wine to help wash it all down. OOOPs, almost forgot the seafood chowder I cooked using the carcass of the 12 lb. pikeral that my son caught a few weeks ago.
We had what I call the last hurrah fish fry here on the farm yesterday. About 40 people, some neighbors, mostly my sons' friends who have been coming here for the last 20 + years.
Today, no cooking. Niece who couldn't come yesterday came. We went to the condo, I had bought a baguette and some lovely local cheese so we had that there. Janet and hubby brought me a fabulous house warming gift for the condo. One of those amazing end cut cutting boards that I admired when I saw one at their place some time ago. I could just never justify the expense to myself./ They also brought a lovely smaller cheese board and cheese knife/cutter, so we were able to use them right away
Then I invited them (Niece and hubby) out for dinner to a local Greek restaurant. Janet's father is retired, has moved back to his native Athens. They spent many summers in Greece, so Janet knows real Greek food. She really enjoyed the restaurant.
What a great weekend!
