I came across an interesting Korean cooking site ~ lots of videos for us 'visual' learners.

I watched one video on making "Emergency Kimchi" the lady made when she was vacationing in Mexico and did not have the ingredients available for her usual (actually, she has multiple recipes) cabbage condiment.

Interesting site ~ thought others might be interested, too.

Here's the link:

I once tried to get my friend to show me how to make 'instant' kimchi and she showed me everything except then she took a bag of mixed spices from her bag and mixed it all together. I asked what was in the bag and she said "just stuff". Now I know what it was. I have never had luck making kimchi so I have bookmarked this page.

I'm shocked, Norm. I would have figured you were a kimchee expert. I guess I'll take another look at that page. If YOU can learn something from it, I definitely know that I can.

I just found the site interesting and the author has a nice mix of things to try, most of which are with ingredients I already have in my pantry.

I have never made a batch of kimchi at home that I thought was as good as what I get at the Asian market.

Before I married my Korean wife, I was afraid to try Korean food. I thought it was either mostly raw or rotten.

I, too, like kimchi -- but don't envision myself making it.
