My favorite big club skillet does not sit flat anymore??? Gosh I love that pan..I think it is 35 + years old lol my DS is now 40  Any one bought any new cookware 652761166 & I think I had it around that time.

I did buy a big one not long ago , hasa glass lid .When I cooked in it ,it seemed flimsy.Tramontina (sorry my speller is off today  Embarassed ) it was only $30. so I will use it but it is not remotely like my big heavy one.

Guess I will have to hit some stores.not fond of made in china tho,so that will a hunt for sure.

I had Club cookware when I was first married. I loved it. I gave it to my daughter and she was still using it.

I really love my All Clad. It can be pricey but sometimes I'll see pieces at outlet stores. Also, if you have a Williams-Sonoma outlet by you, they often sell it at great discounts. You can also get pieces online at outlet prices (i'll have to look up the link if you want it). I bought the first group as a set and have added pieces over the years.

Did you try etsy or ebay? you may find one there Barb.
That is...the same as your peened bottom original
Wait a minute....is it a club cast aluminum pan with the circles on the bottom?
We may have one. If so, I'll give it to ya! Take a pic of it if you still have it.
We have a clubware fry pan with the long wood handle that screws in the side of the pan.
That one is the light green. The other one is the pink believe it or not!n hahahahaha

I just bought a new Calphalon nonstick saucepan to replace the one I burned up. I have been using a 12" nonstick paella pan for years for my omelets and other things and it has been fine but I really needed one with a lid so I bought another Calphalon 12" nonstick fry pan with a lid. I got my saucepan at Home Goods and my fry pan at BBB specially priced and with a coupon. I only like a few pieces that are nonstick (mostly for eggs). The rest of my cookware is All Clad. Most of those pieces I found at Home Goods. Right now I am drooling over a gorgeous 5qt copper Ruffoni deep sauté pan with a beautiful acorn lid handle that showed up at Home Goods. Totally impractical because it is copper, which means polishing but beautiful just the same. Even at Home Goods it is $345.00. YIKES! It must be nice to be able to afford something like that. I doubt I would ever use it though. You have to be careful at Home Goods with All Clad. You have to know your prices because many times I know where to get it for less.

I tried a Calphalon skillet when they first came out in the 80's and hated it with a passion. When I moved to Kansas City two years ago I left one skillet with the kids. (they stayed back until school was out). I got a Calphalon skillet to replace the one they left and did not bring when they moved. It is one I use almost every day for eggs. It is not non stick anymore but is OK because I always add butter or oil when using it and it cleans up easily.

When I had my electric cooktop I had to make sure the bottoms were flat. It took a while to find a grill pan that would work, as well as some other pans. LeCreuset has flat bottom grill pans if you are looking for one. They are heavy, but your grandkids will still be using them in years to come.

I think the ridges on the Club Aluminum would still work. They are close together and shouldn't be an issue. Other pans, such as grill pans, can have raised areas from 1/2 to 1" or more. That doesn't work.

LeCreuset.. Saw loads of it Tuesday Morning, outlet store here.Almost a full rack of it..Ugly gray color, Heavy as all get out.I passed on it.

and on my facebook page I have it 'liked'.. The rants & mad folks who have major issues with it have made me not want any.I have a outlet here & will pass on even going there.

I gave my CI griddles to my DD due to the smoke in my house issue. She has the problem & will not use them either.Lodge is to heavy for me anyway.I have 2 that I use.Have to use both hands to lift them lol.

I have been very happy with my Calphalon. A few years back I had some problem with the interior peeling on a pan I got from WS. I called Calphalon. They emailed me a shipping label and I got a new pan within 2 weeks. As long as you have followed their use and care instructions on the pan, they will replace it. If not, then they won't. If you have a pan that says hand wash only and you have put it in the dishwasher, they know and will not replace the pan. They have pictures on their website showing what they will not replace.

I have never put my pan in the dishwasher but I can't guarantee that the kids haven't.

My old stainless goes into the dishwasher - usually after I wash it by hand. But it's so all the bit of grease and fat I've not cleaned off, maybe the stuff near the handle, etc. that I missed....so all that is completely washed / rinsed off.

Oh, and my cheap non-stick 'egg' pans go in, too.

When we were at Cooking dot com, I got a free gift certificate which I used to get an All Clad non stick skillet.  I have to say that it is one I really don't like.  The handle sticks up at a funny angle and if I casually pick it off the stove the handle is likely to twist in my hand and dump all the stuff in the skillet on the stove or the floor.

The original Calphalon skillet back in the 80's had a handle that got blazing hot on the stove. I needed to use a rubber handle guard which they sold separately or pot holder to pick it up.

If I recall, I think the later ones came with the rubber guard. If you got one of the first ones, you had to buy it separately.

The guy who created the Calphalon cookware line, Ron Kasperzak, was from my old hometown ~ Perrysburg, Ohio. He and his wife, SaraJane, were super nice people. I saw her home kitchen one time. WOW ! After he passed away she had a cookware/specialty store in town.

The newer Calphalon handles don't get hot. They are made of something that doesn't seem to conduct heat very well. I usually don't like any handles because I really need a third hand: two to hold the pan and the third to scrape. I just don't have the strength in my hands and arms. That is one advantage to cheap cookware: it is light.

I saw a 5qt nonstick sauté pan at Costco the other day. I didn't look at it too closely so I can't tell you about the quality but if you have a Costco near you, you might want to check it out.

OMG... that is funny.
We HAD the same POS pan too. Same color and everything.
The glass top handle screw stripped out on the lid, and I had to re-drill it and put a fatter screw, and then the handle split.
The top steel rim on the pan got rusty, and was loose on one spot.
And that was only after not even 3 weeks.
I called it the "Tina Pan!" ( TramonT I N A pan......Get it? )

I think Tina gave it to a friend that did camping.

Barb, if your pan won't sit flat on your new stove, what about using it on the grill? Just a thought.

Barb... you may be able to salvage that pan.
From looking at the photo of the pan....it looks doable..

Place the pan upside down so that the rim edge is flat on a sturdy surface; like a concrete slab.

Place newspaper underneath it, so it doesn't scratch. Go to the Home Depot, and get a large rubber mallet.

Gently at first, starting at the center of the bulged pan, hit it with a few blows with the rubber mallet. Take a ruler or straightedge, and place it across the pan in various places to check the condition of the bottom flatness.

I did that with Tinas Old Aluminum bottom Farberware 4 quart pan.  Smile
