I've been busy and when I'm up at my mountain home, we don't have internet access there.

I do wish the forum would open up to more people, though. We need to shake things up around here.

Since Charles has a new job (same place) he works 9 to 5 week days and Cassie works 5pm to 10 or later most days. The only days she is home when he gets home or they both are off is Wednesdays and Saturdays so I have not been cooking nearly as much as I usually do.

I noticed both of them left for work just before nine today so I think I will make some beef bulgogi for dinner tonight. I'll post pictures.

I am still here, Barb! I do not cook very much now. I do lurk several times a day.
I have had a lot of personal and health issues.
Most of my cooking was done for my dad. My meals are very easy, quick, convenient type--and what I am able to eat.
I do love the camaraderie here. I do think of everyone here as friends.

I have been very busy with our roomie's storage unit. Brought it all over to our house and had to sort through every box. The "we" turned into mostly me going through the boxes and pulling out the obvious trash. We had a garage sale this past weekend of her things. I was hoping she would turn loose of a lot more because her things are going to have to fit into an 8 by 10 storage shed. It "ain't" going to happen. It is what is called a "blivet". 10 pounds of $nit in a 5 pound bag. She is in for a rude awakening. She has to get rid of more stuff. Most of her stuff can go but she can't see that. A bit of a hoarder, I think. So, anyway I haven't had much to say on the forum because I have been working. I hope things improve.

As Andy Griffith (rest his soul) would say....

"Now Now Now.......We here in Mayberry...don't ya see!"....We aint fast tempered an an an as riled as thems city slickers in Raleigh ...whyyyyy thay's always husslin... and busstlin... and honnkin, and creatin allllll thet thare dust an all, ya see!"

"Well... we, we, we, here's a slowwwer paced kinda folk...ya see?"

When wee's a cookin, , We don't ruuush and find ourselves all triiiippin and tummblin all over like our friends in Raleigh...  Noooo sirrrr eeee!
We take our time, and simmer down a bit.

Take that Beth lady now! She can coooook and Make such down home gooodness... thet even the preacher would do some mighty sinnin by stuffin his gullet with that mighty fine food she cooks!

And thet Barb, the one from the lower Carolina State unnerneath us...well goll eee...she is a grillenist cookin woman her state has neeeever seen!"

Annn thet Norm! Where's he from? Oh Yeah..Right!"That Mid Western state of Kaaansaass! Why,...he is always grillen...an choppin an smokin, an why ye'all would figure..hee kin make his own tornados, he cook so good! Why...He'd be a cookin up his own storm! Yesss errrr ee!

Oh! an thet Uncle Jimmy Guy! He can be as happy as a pig in the slop......as long as yaa'll give him his loaf of bread, and a pound of butter! See! Simple! Simple buut tayyysty

We all live far away between each other...but it is comforting to know, that we can all gather here once in a while, and call it home and have such a friendly time at each visit; no matter when it is. At least we have fun, and come to think of it, it's Clean Honest Fun!
And.....At least we have a WalMart To take our frustrations out on! hahahahahahaha.......................( *To Be Continued at a Later Date )

Jimmy you watch to much Andy   You talk just like him.

I like to watch him too. I like Matlock too.

I have way to much time on my hands.I swear all I think about is what to eat what to cook or bake. I must come here 20 times a day to see if someone is here to talk to me. It is to stinking hot now for me to grill much or even be outside. So I lurk online at food sites ,blogs etc.I just stay inside where it is cool.
I see this place as getting slow.Just seems to me that some days (nights) it is just you & me.Which is ok cuz I   you.

I need a hobby lol.I am bored to death..

Gee, Barb, you could practice perfecting the 'English Muffin Frisbee' toss.......

Seriously, though, I'm just happy to see those members who are able to participate whenever it's convenient for them. Sometimes life gets busy. Sometimes stuff slows to a snail pace. But as Jimmy said, it's always nice to know there are friends around when you need 'em and we get to stay up on what's going on.

I had to laugh as I didn't realize anyone even realized I wasn't around very much anymore. I don't take photos of the food we make, most of you do and most of the time, most people just don't seem interested in anything I'm talking about, particularly when I have no photo to post. Not complaining, mind you -- just explaining. I try to comment on things other make and be involved in the discussion but didn't feel there was much interest in anything I had to say. Haven't been here in a while but no one noticed the last time I was gone for a while either. This time either (big stupid grin) though I haven't been here in nearly a month.

I really like all of you so it's not that. Like cookingirl said, I think of you all as friends. Maybe I'll break down and buy a new camera (Brian took it for repair and the guy said to just buy another one; we will do that, of course, just not from him!). Perhaps that will garner a bit of interest in my posts.

Again, I have no animosity or hard feelings about this forum at all. I just started to feel more like a lurker than a participant.

Well, as I stated before....whatever participation you would like to do, we'd love to have you.

But everyone gets busy, everyone has other interests, everyone has a life to live....please don't think we're not interested.

Stop by when the mood strikes....

(by the way, have you seen the latest pics of my tomato plants??? LOL)

Crybaby...now you are making me cry!
I /we / they / all love your stories. And your cooking explanations.

Sometimes people get tied into something and they just have to attend to other matters??

Just so you know, with your posts; the way you explain everything to the "T", you don't need a picture. I love your graphic stories. I start to read them; and then I stop. I stop so I can pop some corn, or grab some chips and a drink, so that I can enjoy your writings and detail just like the serials at the movie house.

God Bless you and Brian.

Well, my goodness, what sweet messages you guys sent. So sorry if I seem(ed) needy, as I'm usually the exact opposite. But I really do appreciate all of your kind words

I hope to get around to getting a new camera anyway, if only to show Beth OUR tomato plants! (Yes, I did check out your plants, Beth!) The four Better Boys, the Brandywine (our first heirloom tomato ever), and the Roma tomato we have in the raised garden are about six feet tall now. They're also full of fruit and blossoms. We grow indeterminate tomatoes, as they don't all ripen at the same time and they get big with many major stems instead of one main one. It's a crucial time for us now, as the nights are getting close to being 75 degrees, at which time the blossoms will no longer fruit. So we've been fertilizing with bloom plenty for the last month so more blossoms will be forced out before the dreaded temp gets too high. You can use that spray to try to force the blossoms to turn but the tomatoes that form are usually kind of different inside than the regular ones. Tomorrow we switch back to the regular fertilizer to get some more leaves to guard against sun scald.

We have two more Romas in the regular garden, along with one cherry in the garden and two more cherry tomato plants in large pots near the raised garden, all of which are producing, though the cherries are much farther along than the Romas. Our yard is small so it looks like a forest of tomato plants right now. It will be close to the third week of June, I think, before we start harvesting the larger tomatoes.

I'm laughing at myself now, as it seems like I'm overcompensating with tomato talk all of a sudden. Again, thanks for all your kind words, as they meant a lot to me.  sunny

I ran into this thread, and I read the Hot Cocoa thing.
LOL.... I am NOW going to have a hot cocoa; and not because I saw the thread, but because it is cool outside. 50º for a nice cool night tonight!

Tina just made us some mini-tacos' for snack. I haven't had a hot cocoa in a few months.
It really is calming, and puts me to sleep quickly! ... Huh! ...It's fattening too!
Tina gave me a nice short haircut yesterday, and I am now tranfered back to a boy from a curly girl.

I told DD, who normally buzzes my hair, I said," Please Dolly, Get your clippers and Give Old Jamie a haircut!" .... "I'm starting to having to flip the hair off my darn eye brows like Anne Coulter the news lady on TV!" hahahahaha..... That makes me so nervous when a girl does that hair flipping.
Tina says." Geeze lady...get a hair clip, and pin it out of the way!!!"

I said,"Yeah! and she probably flips her hair back, all the way to the bank!"

50 degrees. Sounds wonderful. I think it is now in the 80's at 11pm. The windows are open the fans are going and I am going to sweat all night. This is when I wish I had a sleeping porch or a fat wallet to be able to turn on the air.
