I love when leftovers aren't 'LEFTOVERS' but a completely different meal. This one hit the spot and was in no way a 'second place' supper.

That shrimp looks so good!
The arroz con pollo looks good too, but my gut can't tolerate paprika and Roomie is allergic to bell peppers.

I went to the hardware store today and saw the funniest Traeger smoker/bbq. It had a pig's head and tail and was painted Pepto Bismol pink. This gem cost $1599.00.

That's the same smoker the Neeley's had on their cooking program......

Excellent! Nice spin to change up a standard.

Beach day so I heated up some Trader Joe's French onion soup for them when they got back. I fed them a mini Marie Callender's key lime pie for dessert. I have never had it before so I wouldn't know if it was a good pie or not, but it tasted good to me.

I can be so dumb sometimes (actually most of the time). I have my KA mixer sitting on a flexible cutting board so I can slide it back and forth. Without it the mixer doesn't slide and it is too heavy to lift. I saw a tip where a girl put those self sticking felt pads on the mixer's feet. I didn't know it had feet. Sure enough, it does. I pulled out some felt pads from my junk drawer and put them on the mixer. The pads work great and I can put my cutting mat away. Now why didn't I think of that? It was so obvious a solution.

Supper went well today. Even though it was a rush rush run run kinda thing.
DD came, and ate, and had to get back to the farm because two Angus Beef broke through the fence on the farm, and were in some lady's yard. She called the cops, and said she can't be sure they will attack her yadda yadda yadda ....( typical Drama Queen ).

So. we made the best of it! I was fine, but every one else was pi$$y and moody because they have to go to work tomorrow; I guess?? .....

Rain every day this week till Friday anyway...40s over night. The heat is still running.
It's damp and stay inside kind of weather. Tomorrow would make a great Chili for supper Night!

I hate when that happened. You go to a lot of time and effort to make a nice meal and no one really appreciates it. I am so over it..

But you know, they will bxxch and moan that it rains and rains, but they don't remember when there was a drought and they had to drill their well deeper at a mere $4,ooo.oo! Now, thats a good thing to cry about.

Or, our neighbors, ( some of them ); how they cry because they have to cut the grass so much because of the rain. I tell them, "Look at the poor people in California with No water, and NO Grass!.....  No

Barbara101

Barbara101

I would give anything not to have grass. We didn't have it in Arizona . I don't go in the yard. It is nothing but a PIA . Costs to much to have it cut!!!!!!

My grandfather used to say, "If you gonna plant, no plana the flower, you plana the tomato ana the peppers and beans. You eata the food, but you starve if you hava to eata the flower!"

His other saying was..... "Ifa Water wasa so good, she no runa downa the river!"

We only have patches of grass on the front lawn and weeds in the back. Unfortunately my front yard has a slope so I can't put down rocks. I am not sure the HOA would let me anyway. We can't afford artificial grass ($10,000). So I guess we will sell the house as is.

I have bought my first and last Apple product. I have an Ipod I bought in 2013. The battery will no long hold charge. It will cost $180 for a new one. The pod only cost $240 in the first place. Fortunately Joe has an external battery he can use. What a rip off.

I am making shrimp scampi tonight with a grilled artichoke and potatoes Romanoff.

Chicken Enchiladas and guacomole......all because I was ready to toss two avacados that had been in the refrigerator for over a week. Instead of just tossing them, I cut them in half, found they were perfectly ripe and not brown/nasty......so Mexican night.

Just finished supper. Tina made Salmon patty's which we hadn't had in a while.
Scalloped potatoes, and cauliflower and carrots. poofff! I'm full.

The sun just peeked out, and clouds are moving in for the next round of rain.

That chicken sure looks good. Those enchilada do too. I got an email this morning from King Arthur with lots of ideas for things to do with sourdough starter. I went to the store to get some white whole wheat flour to try the one called Onion and Bay Loaf. Then I went to the meat counter to see if anything caught my eye to have to go with the bread. I saw a chuck roast that was just the right size for two so that determined the rest of dinner tonight. I also made a tossed salad and picked up a pineapple upside down cake on a whim.

Great texture on that bread, Norm. Nice job. Don't you just love it when a meal just kind of pops into you head, whether from something you read or something that calls to you at the grocery store?

Barb's chickens are always an inspiration.....she must have more patience than I do. It looks like she just sets it in that grill and walks away.......and then the lid pops up automatically and there is that 'perfectly roasted bird' auditioning for it's picture. If it was me, I would have picked off a bunch of that skin and then had to grab some parsley or something to cover up where I made a mess of it! LOL Barb, truly beautiful as always!

For a person who doesn't favor chicken ( some ways its cooked ) , I would say, "Barb" gets the Award For the Tastiest Looking, and Best in all classes, of cooked chicken.

Like Beth said, Me too, I would have that crispy top layer of that bird gone in an instant!
