Barb, I have one and I really like it! It is lightweight and does a fair job of vacuuming. I also have an Oreck for the heavier cleaning. I bought it 2 years ago. I think they have a lot more varieties now, with improvements.
I got the Shark because my Oreck was in the shop for a week. With a shedding cat, and allergy season, I could not be without a vacuum for a week.
The only thing I really dislike is emptying the dust container.
It gets full pretty fast from all the fur.
Instead of going to the dreaded Walmart, I bought mine at Target.
I had a 20% off coupon and had an additional 5% taken off because I used their credit card.  cheers

Shark is a brand name. They make other things too. When I was in the market for a cordless iron, Shark was one of the ones I considered. As I recall it had pretty good ratings. Oreck was giving theirs away free with the purchase of something else. Oreck had all bad ratings. One rating for the Oreck iron was that it wasn't worth what I paid for it and I got it for free. I ended up getting a Panasonic cordless iron. I have no complaints about it.
