Brian almost forgets something every time he leaves the house -- no lie! His phone, his wallet, his sunglasses, the bottle of water he got out for the ride, etc. He rarely leaves the house "just once" a trip.
The other day he was out on errands and wasn't too far from the house when he phoned and asked me to bring his wallet outside, as he was driving back from the convenient store about a half-mile away from our house where he realized he didn't have it when he went to check out. There are two Palestinian guys who own it and they're really nice. We've been going there about 16 years and Brian, being so good at languages, has learned a decent amount of Arabic from them.
At any rate, he told me yesterday that he stopped at the store (we call it Hamood's, as that's what we called it before we learned their names, Abdul and Sam) on his way out of the Point and asked Abdul if he had any of that windshield washer fluid for the car. Abdul said he didn't carry it and Brian left.
On Brian's way home, he stopped there again to get some lighter fluid. He figured he'd mess with Abdul when he saw him and said, "Do you have any of that windshield washer fluid?" He said Abdul just stared at him with his mouth open, until Brian started laughing and said, "Just messing with you, Abdul. I don't have dementia yet!" He said Abdul was still laughing when he left... Brian turned and said, "You're lucky I remember to wear my pants when I come here!" More laughing ensued...
