Did anyone catch the launch of the new show called The Kitchen with Geoffrey Zakarian, Marcela Valladolid, Katie Lee, Jeff ? (the Food Network Star sandwich guy) and Sunny Anderson?

At the end, Geoffrey (Iron Chef) showed how to open a champagne bottle traditional way (twist the bottle not the cap) and for the second demonstration, using a saber, he burst the bottle in half and had champagne ALL over him! I laughed so hard! He laughed at himself too so it was all good.

Anyway, it was a good show but I think there is one too many people in it and they can leave Katie Lee out as far as I am concerned.

I missed that....and I wanted to watch.

I have seen a couple new shows on The Food Network, one with an older "farm girl", former caterer and the other one a young woman who grows and/or forages for food in the woods, I think. Neither shows have impressed me with any real content.

I would think Geoffrey Zakarian and Sunny Anderson would be good together - not a big fan of Marcela Valladolid (I don't make Mexican food that often as it's not a flavor profile we prefer often) and Jeff Morrow is ok but all he does is sandwiches, again not something I make a lot. I'd like to get some flavoring/spicing tips from Geoffrey Zakarian ~ I think he's a really talented chef who has done extensive travel and study....and, Sunny, well, I just like her ~ maybe it's because she makes a lot of Southern recipes (many reborn) and I like that type of food.

I have seen Geoffrey successfully open a bottle of champagne with a saber and it was pretty cool, but I can imagine it being hilarious to see the bottle explode. So sorry I missed it ~ but I'll definitely watch for the rerun.
