I'm a fairly tolerant person....

OK, so I lie! I'm NOT tolerant of some things....and creatures who try to scurry into my home are NOT something I'm very tolerant of....

affraid I was going to open my sliding patio door when I looked down and saw a big, fat gecko sunning itself just outside the door. affraid

Ewwwww! The last thing I want is for another one to be inside. I've found one dried up gecko and one dried up frog by the inside patio doors when we took posession of this home. And before I found it is absolutely necessary to close the screen or door on the sliders I did have one gecko decide to come inside. I was able to "corral" the creature and shoooed it back out the door, but I was sweatin' bullets thinking of how I wouldn't be able to sleep if I didn't get it to go out the door on it's own!

I know those little creatures are good to have outside. I understand they eat all kinds of bugs and things. But, just like rodents in Ohio, they startle me when I'm outside and they dart in front of me. But, hey, if they don't come inside then I'm good with them camping out in my bushes!

WOW! I was just outside in my courtyard and I witnessed a little tiny gecko jump into the air to catch a flying insect! I think it was a fly, but it all happened so fast I'm not at all sure I care. But as long as they stay under my azalea bushes and don't dart out in front of me, I'm sure we can share the space without me hiding inside during daylight hours!

Oh, Lawdy, I think my BP just sky rocketed.....

I have a habit of taking short "breaks" to sit out in my courtyard (with my evening cocktail....) to enjoy the beautiful weather. Apparently I did not close the slider door completely. As I walked to the door to return inside I saw one of those geckos dart in on my den carpeting. Aaaaaarrrrrrgggghhhhhhhh!

From past experience I knew where the little creature would be - under the "foot stool" I have placed under the window as a seat, with a couple of my recovered sofa pillows.

I was able to leave the patio slider open and roll the foot stool aside - amazing how big their eyes get! LOL - and then I corraled the little guy with one of the pillows so he was more inclined to return outside.

Phew! No wonder I drink!!!!

Thanks, Michelle! The throw pillows originally matched the sofa and chair fabric and I didn't care for the matchy-matchy. So, I found some coordinating material, borrowed a 1965 Singer portable sewing machine from a neighbor and made slip-covers for 8 pillows. Two have a deep rose/gold dragonfly design:

What was really neat for me was going shopping at one of the local department stores in Ocala and as we walked through the bedding dept. we saw the same fabric on throw pillows in a different color. For once in my life I'm in a current decorating theme! LOL

I'd have gotten off on that, too, Beth!
