Well....after 4 months, the peach pit liqueur I made in August is finally ready. I had trouble finding a pretty bottle for serving it, but holy cow...this stuff is 'da bomb'. And even better than the liqueur is the layer on the bottom of the jar which is a thick, shugary, liqueury layer that I'm going to use to make peach syrup for pancakes for Christmas morning.

I hope I get all the peaches next year so I can make this again. Here's what the jar looks like filled with this peachy goodness

The liqueur itself looks and tastes like amaretto. Here it is in the measuring cup I used when straining it.

That's strange. I see it when I click. It's probably a security thing. Let me move it and I'll repost the link.

Thanks for reposting, Jana, as I couldn't see the first links either. I doubt I will ever have that many peach pits but it really sounds sooo good -- and so unique, too. And the beautiful jar you put it in elevates it as a super, super gift! You have lucky friends indeed.

Thanks. I can't guarantee I'll get all those peaches next year so just in case, I'm going to freeze them as I get them. It would probably work well with nectarines and plums, too.

And....after the events of the last few months, I truly am the lucky one since my friends are fabulous
