UNCLE JIMMY

UNCLE JIMMY

We had this Tent for a couple months sitting and poor Tina waiting for me to assemble and put it up!

Well....I finally tackled it today! It is like a Gazeebo Tent with insect fabric screens.
Look how Happy the Kid is......

Here I am laboring at installing the clamps EE into the bracket BB ! hahaha

Anyway...at least "T" is happy, and that's all that matters!
We sat there tonight, and I had a tea, and Tina had a Bowl of Oatmeal!
No TV yet, but tomorrow, I will flip a cable outside and hook it to a little TV 13" That is in the pile of stuff in DD's Old Room.

Tina said, we should get a little hibachi to cook hot dogs with. Uhhhh!! N O T ! "Tinas Little Big Top!" 2787578702

The cats were looking at us sitting in there. They must have been saying," Gee look at them two in there. They look like Two Monkeys in a circus cage!" bounce ...hahahahahaha,

Thanks Beth! It IS Nice! It's very Cozy!

It is basically for the two of us. Its only 10 x 12, but it has a couple chairs and a recliner inside with a 36" round patio table.

The only P I T A , is zipping up and unzipping to go in and out.
I told Tina to order that magnetic slap close as seen on TV and she did last night. I'll figure out some way to fasten it. Razz

I think they sell the magnet strip tape at places like Hobby Lobby or maybe even HOme Depot...maybe you could add a strip of screen fabric to the edge with Gorilla Glue with the magnet strip inside...

just thinking out loud here....I'm sure you will come up with something. Maybe just a couple spots to overlap for magnets....doesn't have to be a whole strip.

Or, just live in there. And tell M and GD you are both invisible when inside so don't come lookin' !

Thanks for the ideas and info Beth and Barb!
I just went out to check the tent, and 1 thing. It's not water repellent .... The dew drops came right through the roof.
I think as long as it protects from mosquito's and insects, it's good enough.

I could throw a tarp over the thing if I wanted to.
I don't think it is ideal on a hot day. I will N E V E R sit inside a tent when it's 80 or above; even 75 degrees.

I'm not a sun or warm worshiper. LOL

If you want a covering that is waterproof look for a vinyl tablecloth and attach with binder clips around the edges - they come in tiny sizes at office supply stores.

That's a good idea. We have a lot of those binder clips from staples.
We use them for everything. We have the weeny ones; all the way up to the papa bear ones. We seal baggies and bread wrappers. We throw away the twist ties, and use them in place.

Thanks Crybaby.
I forgot that I can run the cable for TV in there, but I need a cable converter box to get the signal.
I have to see if Tina can watch TV in her tent with the laptop computer?

I'm curious -- will you leave that up during the winter or take it down? Just curious as I don't live in snowville!

Mad It has to come down...Grrrrrrrrrr!

DD and her X had one in the yard. They left it up too late in Fall, and we had a 4 inch early snowfall. That thing twisted into a pile of junk!
They must have used it 3 times; if that!

I had a feeling it would have to come down, Jimmy.

We're okay in the winter with things like that but if there's a tropical storm coming, not to mention a hurricane, we've got to batten down all the hatches and remove anything that can fly around. It's a bit*h to deal with the potted plants!

Yeah! It's got to come down; one way or another.
I call it a T O Y ....

I wanted to Build a enclosed area like a sun room, but not insulated or heated. Just like a porch that I could make framed plastic windows that could be inserted or removed and replaced with framed screens for the summer. I had made one for my Mom and Dad, and it was great!

That sounds super -- would be great down here! I can only imagine how cool it would be to be able to build something like that. We have trouble hanging a piece of art!

Would have been nicer to have let me build something; even for now as a frame with at least a roof that would keep out rain and hold a snow load.
Tina just jumped the gun and ordered her tent.

She is using it the second time now! WOW! ... hahahaha
She is out there sitting inside on her laptop warming up.
She is cold from the A/C inside the house, and it' only set on 75 degrees.

Maybe it is the lower humidity inside?? She's always cold anyway.

Tomorrow she wants to go to her uncles in Mays Landing. It's Hot there! Usually 8 to 10 degrees warmer than here.

Oooops! I better go check on her out there, and make sure she's not well done!

Sure, start building something out on the deck and then the permit police spy you puttin' up a roof....

$$$$$$ Mr. build it myself!

Pay up. Now.

By the way, did you have a permit for the deck? Whoa! Do you think this is an animal sanctuary? Got a fine for lack of permit for that, too......we see you been feeding your little forest friends.

Better to put er up and take er down.....cheaper, anyway.

Yep! Took care of it all. $100.00 Bucks in a plain white envelope dropped on the deck floor with the word "Inspector" on it!
Had two official Town Appraisals for Taxes, and it was just drawn on the plot map. ... Happy....

Say Goodby to Tina's Tent.

Had a whipper of a storm last couple weeks ago, and it twisted the metal frame.

Here it is all cut up in small pieces and tonight it is out in the trash can.

I knew this was gonna happen. The instructions say, do not fasten to a deck. It also says take it down when there is an indication of windy weather.
Like...HELLOooooooo!!

The thing was designed it looks like, by a 6 year old whos dad was Omar the tent maker.
